January 31, 2010 Jamal Mayers has been traded to the Flames as part of a seven-player deal between Calgary and Toronto, according to Our View:The Leafs told Mayers last week they would honor his request for a trade, and his reward is a spot on a Flames team that is in position to make the playoffs, but currently struggling. With just eight points in 44 games this season, he is not going to suddenly morph into a fantasy option, though. He does have 78 penalty minutes, however. |

January 27, 2010 The Maple Leafs have given Jamal Mayers permission to seek a trade, according to Our View:Mayers feels he still has a bit left in the tank, and doesn't see sticking with Toronto in his future. The 35-year-old winger only scored one goal and five points over 42 games this season. |
