November 15, 2009 Nicklas Lidstrom, who has just seven points in 18 games, says he is not concerned about his slip in offense this season, according to the Our View:Although it is true that Lidstrom is off the pace that saw him tally 59 points in 78 games a season ago, and 70 in 76 games in 2007-08, he is still widely considered one of the best defenseman in the game at age 39, and considering the talent he possesses, he should still end up with near 50 points in 2009-10. |

October 15, 2009 Nicklas Lidstrom chipped in a pair of assists in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Kings at Joe Louis Arena. He was named the First Star of the game. Our View:Lidstrom scored the 1,000th point of his career tonight, and became the first European-born defenseman to do so. The loyal home fans gave the 39-year-old vet a standing ovation after reaching the milestone. |

June 23, 2009 The Our View:Babcock has been the front-runner for awhile now, and his back-to-back trips to the Stanley Cups Finals certainly helped his resume. He obviously knows how to win, and maybe more importantly, he knows how to handle great talent, so he seems like the perfect man for the job. |
