February 3, 2010 TSN.ca reports that the Senators have signed defenseman Jared Cowen, the team's first pick in the 2009 draft, to an entry-level contract. Our View:Cowen, the ninth-overall pick, is just 19 and in his third full season with the Western Hockey League's Spokane Chiefs. He has put up 17 goals, 43 assists and 153 penalty minutes in 161 career games, and played six games for Canada's Silver Medal winning team in this year's World Junior Championships. |
