James Neal helped lead the Stars in tonight's 3-1 win at Detroit, as he notched a pair of assists. He was named the First Star of the game.

James Neal (groin) returned to the Stars lineup on Thursday after missing two games, according to the Dallas Morning News.

November 12, 2009
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, winger James Neal is expected to play in Thursday's game against San Jose.

Our View:Neal has missed the last two games with a groin injury, but is healthy enough to return to action. If you own him, it's time to get him back into your lineup.
November 5, 2009
James Neal did not practice Thursday after pulling his groin in last night's battle with Calgary, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:The rising star is questionable for Friday's game against Vancouver. Toby Petersen could see more ice time if Neal is unable to play.

Our View:The rising star is on fire as he scored points in seven straight games, with six goals and four assists over the span.

October 6, 2009
James Neal netted a goal in tonight's 5-4 loss at Edmonton. He took a game-high seven shots on goal.

Our View:Neal collected 24 goals as a rookie in 2008-09, and will aim for the 30-goal mark this season. He has three goals over his first two games so far.
October 4, 2009
James Neal scored both Dallas goals in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Predators on Saturday.

Our View:Neal notched 24 goals a year ago and is off to a nice start this season. His second tally of the game came on the power play, where he saw limited time last year, scoring just ten points.
September 30, 2009
James Neal blasted two goals in a 5-1 exhibition win over the Texas Stars (minor league affiliate) on Wednesday.

Our View:Neal netted 24 goals over 77 games last season, and looks primed to top that total in 2009-10 while paired with Brad Richards on the second line. He is worth targeting as a sleeper in fantasy drafts.
April 29, 2009
Forward James Neal caught a stick to the left eye on Tuesday and will miss the rest of the World Championships, according to the Dallas Morning News. He is playing for Team Canada. "He is going to stay with us for another 24 to 48 hrs to make sure the swelling goes down a bit then he will fly back to Toronto," Team Canada general manager Doug Armstrong says. "The good news it's not career threatening or career ending it's just a serious enough injury to take him out of this tournament."

Our View:Neal, 21, had a promising but inconsistent rookie campaign for the Stars. He will be a low-end fantasy forward heading into 2009-10, but there is some upside here.
April 2, 2009
James Neal recorded his 12th assist of the season Thursday in Dallas' 2-1 home loss to Calgary.

Our View:Despite his 24 goals, Neal remains an unreliable fantasy option for most leagues because the rest of his offensive skill set is too inconsistent.
March 24, 2009

March 4, 2009
James Neal scored a pair of goals Tuesday night to lead the Stars to a 4-1 win over the Sharks at HP Pavilion in San Jose.

Our View:With Neal, it seems when he scores once in a game, he can't stop. Eleven of his 20 goals this season have come in five games.
January 31, 2009
Left winger James Neal's 14th goal of the season early in the first period Saturday night began an offensive onslaught in Dallas' dominating 7-3 road win over Columbus at Nationwide Arena. He also added an assist and four shots on goal.

Our View:Neal has nearly as many points in his last four games (5) as he did the entire month of December (7). Neal seems to be a virtual unknown among league owners, but the 21-year-old forward may be worth a look in deeper leagues for the next few weeks.
January 3, 2009
James Neal scored the Stars' lone goal in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Edmonton. He took four shots on goal.

Our View:Neal remains hot as he notched a goal in three of his last five games. The 21-year-old winger is on pace to surpass 25 goals this season, and is worth targeting if still dangling on the waiver wire.
