Paul Stastny chipped in a pair of assists in Tuesday's 3-2 win at Calgary.

Our View:Stastny scored multiple points seven times, and has four goals and 16 assists over 21 games for the season. The 23-year-old center's fantasy stock looks to be pointed up.

Paul Stastny dished out two more assists on Sunday, but the Avs still fell to the Oilers by a score of 5-3. Stastny now has 14 assists on the season in 18 games.

Our View:The point total isn't bad for Stastny, as he has 18 in 18 games, but the team needs him to get in the goal column a bit more often. He only has 4 goals, but expect that number to increase more consistently while his assist numbers continue stay solid.

Our View:Colorado's top center provided a nice night for fantasy owners, and now has four goals and 16 points over 16 games. His fantasy stock continues to point up.

Our View:The star center snapped a seven-game skid without lighting the lamp, and now has three goals for the season. He also collected six assists.

Paul Stastny scored a power play goal and added an assist in the Avalanche's 3-0 win over Vancouver on Saturday.

Our View:Stastny now has four points in two games to kick off the 2009-10 season and should be Colorado's biggest scoring threat this season. He was limited to just 45 games last season due to injury, but was more than a point a game player in 2007-08. Expect more of that this season.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune is reporting that the Colorado Avalanche have promoted Joe Sacco to be their new head coach. Sacco had previously been the head coach for the Avalanche's minor league affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.

Our View:This move comes just one day after the team officially fired Tony Granato. The Avs have certainly shaken things up after their worst season since moving to Colorado, revamping the front office and now hiring a new coach.

Our View:Colorado only has nine games left in the regular season, so Stastny is likely done. Colorado is out of playoff contention while buried in the cellar of the Northwest division.

Our View:Stastny has only appeared in 45 games this season due to a variety of ailments. He is one of Colorado's better players when he is healthy, and he is not expected to miss much time due to this injury.

Our View:Stastny suffered a broken arm on March 23 after taking a slap-shot off of it. Though Colorado is a poor team, he's clearly a top talent, and fantasy owners should not hesitate to insert him in their lineups.

The AP reports that Paul Stastny, who has missed seven weeks with a broken arm, skated with the Avalanche on Monday and could return as soon as Friday.

Our View:Stastny was the leading scorer on the Avs at the time of his injury and the team has gone 9-14 without him. Through those first 34 games, 15 of his 31 points came on the power play.

Our View:He is progressing well, and may be ready to return within the next two weeks, barring a setback. Stastny is among Colorado's top snipers, and he shall remain stashed on fantasy rosters.

Our View:If the Avalanche can tread water for a few more weeks until Stastny returns, they will be in good shape to make a late playoff run. Currently, Colorado is four points out of the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.
