Our View:Quincey is fitting in very well with the Avalanche, as he scored a goal and four assists over the first four games of the season. The Kings did the blueliner a favor by trading him in the offseason, and his fantasy stock is on the rise.

According to TSN.com, Kyle Quincey has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche for Ryan Smyth.

Our View:Quincey heads to Denver with fellow defenseman Tom Priessing. He's a smooth puck-moving blueliner and will help bolster the Avs' power play. He put up 38 points last season and 27 of them were with the man advantage.

The Los Angeles Times reports that defenseman Kyle Quincey will have surgery to repair his herniated disc on Wednesday.

Our View:The 23-year-old is done for the season. His first season in Los Angeles has to be considered a success as he appeared in 72 games and recorded 38 points to go with 63 PIM. In his previous three seasons, all in Detroit, He managed just one point in 13 games played.

Kyle Quincey scored his third goal of the season Tuesday night in a 3-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Our View:The 23-year-old defenseman has been more prone to assisting on goals this season than scoring them. His 19 assists are just three less than future Hall of Famer Nicklas Lidstrom.
