November 14, 2009 The Denver Post is reporting that Avalanche defenseman Tom Preissing is hoping to make his season debut Saturday night against the Canucks. Preissing came over to Colorado as part of the Ryan Smyth trade in the offseason. Our View:Preissing is coming off a knee injury, and coach Joe Sacco hasn't decided whether or not he will play tonight. He is coming off a terrible year last season, but the potential is there, as he scored 38 points and finished tied for the league lead with a plus-40 rating for the Senators in 2007. Don't expect a repeat of that 2007 season, but he has something to prove and could be a nice addition to the Avs' blue line. |

July 3, 2009 TSN.com reports that the Avalanche have acquired Tom Preissing, defenseman Kyle Quincey and a fifth-round pick for Ryan Smyth. Our View:Preissing wasn't the main ingredient in this deal. He only put up seven points last season in 22 games and the 30-year-old was waived at one point by the Kings. He will add depth in Colorado. |

February 11, 2009 Tom Preissing wasp laced on the injured reserve on Wednesday due to an upper body injury, according to the Miami Herald. Our View:Preissing had seven points in 22 games, so he doesn't have much fantasy value. He had missed the Kings past four games so the move was retroactive to February 1st. |
