October 26, 2009 Our View:Kovalchuk might be the biggest star the casual hockey fan has never heard about, but fantasy owners are well aware of how big this injury is. Kovalchuk is an elite scorer, and losing him for a month is going to really hurt the Thrashers, not to mention the loads of fantasy teams that will be struggling as well. |

October 26, 2009 Ilya Kovalchuk did not participate in Thrashers practice on Monday as he deals with an injured foot, according to the Our View:Thrashers GM Don Waddell said on Monday that Kovalchuk will undergo CT scan because there is "obviously a reason for concern." Not good news for the Thrashers. Kovalchuk is in the midst of another prolific season, netting nine goals in his first eight games. |

October 25, 2009 According to the Our View:Kovalchuk was injured in the first period of Saturday's game against the Sharks. He's set to have X-rays, and we won't know much until they come back. Consider him day-to-day for now. |
