October 20, 2009 Rick DiPietro (rehab from knee surgery) participated in about 15 minutes of Islanders practice on Monday, according to Our View:15 minutes is obviously not a long time, but DiPietro is working on building up his stamina. He may still be able to return before the end of the calendar year. So far in his absence this season, the Isles are 0-3-3, allowing 23 goals against in the process. |

October 14, 2009 Rick DiPietro looked good in the first "high-speed shooting drill" of his knee rehab on Tuesday, according to Our View:There is still no timetable for his return, but obviously, he is making solid progress toward one. October 11, 2009 Rick DiPietro is hoping to return to the ice in the next fre weeks, accoring to Our View:DiPietro was an up-an-coming star before his injury problems, and at this point he is just hoping to be back on the ice. He may never be the goalie we once thought he could, but if he can get healthy he could bounce back in a very big way. |
