November 9, 2009 Rick DiPietro (rehab from knee surgery) practiced with the Islanders in a limited fashion on Monday, and is expected to do so again on Tuesday, according to Our View:His seemingly neverending rehab goes on - slowly. If you have him stashed, there's really no point in keeping him, as it could still be months before he returns. Stay tuned. |

October 20, 2009 Rick DiPietro (rehab from knee surgery) participated in about 15 minutes of Islanders practice on Monday, according to Our View:15 minutes is obviously not a long time, but DiPietro is working on building up his stamina. He may still be able to return before the end of the calendar year. So far in his absence this season, the Isles are 0-3-3, allowing 23 goals against in the process. |

October 14, 2009 Rick DiPietro looked good in the first "high-speed shooting drill" of his knee rehab on Tuesday, according to Our View:There is still no timetable for his return, but obviously, he is making solid progress toward one. Dwayne Roloson and Martin Biron will continue to fill-in in goal for the Islanders while he is out. |
