Impending free agent Evgeni Nabokov could be on his way to the Flyers, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View:His negotiating rights, that is. Philadelphia has said it will make a big commitment to a goalie this offseason, and Nabokov would fit the bill. Put the chances of this happening at over 50 percent.

According to Sportsnet.ca, the Sharks will not offer netminder Evgeni Nabokov a new contract.

Our View:Looks like the Sharks are moving forward without their stalwart in net, as Nabokov is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. He has been dubbed one of the best goalies in the league for several years now and has always been a beast with San Jose in the regular season, but his inability to become otherworldly in the playoffs has soured fans and the front office. He'll likely get a lucrative deal on the free agent market with a team in need of a top netminder.

Evgeni Nabokov wasn't tested much on Sunday, as he faced just 17 shots, but the last one got by him and it happened to come in overtime, so the Sharks got handed a 1-0 loss courtesy of the Avalanche.

Our View:Nabokov didn't do much in this game and then crumbled when it counted. He allowed five goals in the previous game, and despite getting the win, did not look sharp. The Sharks are notorious for getting bounced in the first round, despite dominating in the regular season, and it looks like it may be happening again. The currently trail 2-1 in the series.
April 15, 2010

Our View:Uh oh. Early playoff exits are kind of the Sharks forte, so this is not a good sign. They have plenty of firepower to advance to the next round, but if they run into a red hot goaltender they could get burned.
