Milan Hejduk will not be available to the Avalanche on Wednesday night against the Blackhawks, according to beat writer Adrian Dater. Hejduk is still suffering from a back injury.

Our View:The team was hoping to have Hejduk back tonight, but it looks like the back is still in pretty bad shape. It's a tough game for the Avs tonight, so no Hejduk will certainly hurt their offensive potential.

The Denver Post is reporting that the Colorado Avalanche have signed Milan Hejduk to a contract extension through the 2010-2011 season. erms of the deal were not disclosed by the team.

Our View:There were many people who believed that the Avs might try to move Hejduk before the trade deadline this season, but it looks like he will be staying in Denver. He is one of the few holdovers from the great Avs teams of the past, ad it looks like he will be around for at least two more years.
September 20, 2009
Milan Hejduk scored 48 seconds into overtime on Sunday to give the Avalanche a 2-1 win over the Blues. Hejduk was assisted by Ryan Wilson and Kyle Quincy on the goal.

Our View:The Avs are still in rebuilding mode, but Hejduk is one of the holdovers from the great teams earlier this century. He will have to improve on his 59 points from last season if the team will have any chance at competing for a playoff spot ths year.
April 5, 2009
Milan Hejduk tallied a goal and two assists on Sunday in the Av's 4-1 blowout of the Cannucks. The goal was his 27th.

Our View:Hejduk now has 58 points this season and is clearly suffering from his supporting cast disappearing due to a rash of injuries. Look for him to contribute more next season when the Avs get healthy.
March 25, 2009
Milan Hejduk scored one of the two goals for Avs on Wednesday when they were blown out by the Ducks 7-2. It was his 26th score of the season.

Our View:Hejduk seemed to be the lone bright spot for the floundering Avs, until he went seven games without a goal. Perhaps tonight's goal will jump start him.
March 4, 2009
Milan Hejduk stayed put on Wednesday for the Avs at the trading deadline and then contributed at night with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 loss to Detroit.

February 15, 2009
Milan Hejduk scored his 21st of the season Sunday with under eight minutes left in regulation, and the Avs eventually beat the Red Wings 6-5 in a shootout.

Our View:Largely due to Colorado's struggles as a team this season, Hejduk is set to post the worst rating of his 10-year career. Currently at minus-9 after Sunday's win, Hejduk has never registered a rating any lower than zero. His career-high is a staggering plus-52 set in 2002-03.

January 29, 2009
Colorado got two goals on Thursday from their lone All-Star, Milan Hejduk.

Our View:Hejduk ended a two-game pointless streak with this contest, but has still been a disappointment for fantasy owners for the past few years. He racked up 50 goals and 48 assists in the 2002-03 season, but has only registered 70+ points twice in the four seasons since. It doesn't look like he'll ever get near the 100 point mark again, but he's still a fairly consistent scorer.
January 28, 2009
Milan Hejduk was held scoreless for the 12th time in 14 games Tuesday night as the Avalanche lost to the Sharks at home 3-0.

Our View:It seems as if Hejduk better fits the role of table-setter than goal-scorer at this stage of his career. The 32-year-old forward is on pace to score his second-lowest goal total since 2001-02, but he has an outside shot to record his most assists since the 2002-03 season, when he had 48.
January 18, 2009
Milan Hejduk scored his 15th goal of the year and the 300th of his career on Sunday night. He also handed out an assist in the effort.

Our View:Both Hejduk and Ryan Smyth scored their 300th career goal as Hejduk became just the four player in franchise history to reach that mark (Joe Sakic-625, Michel Goulet-456 and Peter Stastny-380 ). Hedjuk has produced 34 points through 46 games and remains a nice secondary scoring option off the right wing.
