June 18, 2009 Zdeno Chara has been awarded the James Norris Trophy, according to the Associated Press. Our View:The award honors the NHL's best defenseman. Chara managed to beat out Niklas Lidstrom, who has won the award six times. Mike Green was a top contender as well. The last member of the Bruins to claim the Norris was Ray Bourque back in 1994. |

June 2, 2009 Our View:The winner will be announced on Thursday, June 18 at the NHL awards show in Las Vegas. This will be the third year the award has been presented, with Mats Sundin winning in 2008 and Chris Chelios winning in 2007. |
