November 7, 2009 Zdeno Chara finally notched his first goal of the season on Saturday as the Bruins beat the Sabres 4-2. Chara also added an assist in the win. Our View:Chara has been a bit disappointing so far this season, but tonight's two point effort could signal that he is ready to break out. The first goal of the season is always the toughest, so fantasy owners should look forward to better offensive production from Chara going forward. |

June 18, 2009 Zdeno Chara has been awarded the James Norris Trophy, according to the Associated Press. Our View:The award honors the NHL's best defenseman. Chara managed to beat out Niklas Lidstrom, who has won the award six times. Mike Green was a top contender as well. The last member of the Bruins to claim the Norris was Ray Bourque back in 1994. |
