Walter Jones, TSunday 2/7, 2:32 PM CT
A message on Walter Jones' Twitter account says that the all-world left tackle has decided to retire. Dealing with knee and back injuries, he did not play in 2009.

Our View:Of course, the way the message reads, "I have came to the concussion it is time for me to retire from football," is odd, and obviously either an appropriate Freudian slip or joke. Wait for something more official, even though it seems like it would be hard to find something more official than Jones' own word.
Patrick Kerney, DEFriday 1/29, 10:37 AM CT
While a formal announcement has yet to be made, Patrick Kerney has apparently opted to retire, according to Pro Football Talk.

Our View:Kerney reportedly threw a retirement party last week, yet the media failed to get word of his retirement until now. Kerney was set to undergo elbow surgery this offseason and surely would have had to take a paycut on the $5.15 million he would have been due in 2010, though that will no longer be necessary. Kerney played in two Pro Bowls and will finish with 82.5 sacks over his 11-year career.
Matt Hasselbeck, QBTuesday 1/19, 9:43 AM CT
The Seahawks have signed John Schneider to serve as their next general manager, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Schneider, who's expected to be formally announced as the general manager by Seattle on Wednesday, will leave his post as the Packers' director of football operations. The promotion is a great one for Schneider, though it's unclear exactly how much say he'll have in the Seahawks' future decisions with new head coach Pete Carrol likely to have a major influence.
