Tully Banta-Cain, LB Saturday 11/21, 12:12 PM CT
The Boston Globe reports that Tully Banta-Cain is listed as questionable for Sunday's game with a rib injury.

Our View: Banta-Cain is the Patriots best edge pass rusher, but he got banged up in last week's game when he was blindsided on special teams. Consider him a game-time decision.
Julian Edelman, WR Saturday 11/21, 12:08 PM CT
According to the Boston Globe, Julian Edelman is expected to play in Week 11 but will wear a partial cast on his injured forearm.

Our View: Edelman missed two games due to the injury, but returned last week when he got the cast. It's a carbon-fiber shield that he can take on and off, and protects him enough so that he can fulfill his WR3 duties in the Pats offense.
Ben Watson, TE Friday 11/20, 6:42 PM CT
Ben Watson (knee) is probable for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Watson only caught 20 passes over nine games this season, and the Jets have been tough on opposing tight ends - meaning Watson is not a good fantasy option.
Ty Warren, DE Friday 11/20, 6:36 PM CT
Ty Warren is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the Boston Globe. He is recovering from an ankle ailment.

Our View: Warren missed Week 10, and was missed as the Patriots fell to the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. He is their best defensive end, and rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez could benefit if Warren is slowed or unable to go on game day.
Sammy Morris, RB Friday 11/20, 6:33 PM CT
Sammy Morris is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Morris missed the last three games with a knee injury, but appears to be nearing his return to the gridiron. Fred Taylor (ankle) will remain out, so Laurence Maroney should continue to handle the bulk of the workload at running back on game day.
Fred Taylor, RB Friday 11/20, 6:30 PM CT
Updating an earlier report, Fred Taylor has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Fragile Fred will be missing his sixth straight game with an ankle injury. Sammy Morris is questionable with his ailing knee, meaning Laurence Maroney will likely remain the Patriots' No. 1 running back.
Fred Taylor, RB Friday 11/20, 11:09 AM CT
Fred Taylor (knee) is absent from Patriots practice on Friday, according to ESPN.

Our View: He is almost certain to be out again this Sunday. Laurence Maroney will continue to handle number-one back duties.
Randy Moss, WR Thursday 11/19, 8:56 AM CT
Randy Moss, who leads the NFL in receiving yards with 891, will face off against Jets corner Darrelle Revis this weekend, according to the Newark Star-Ledger. Revis held Moss to a season-low 24 yards in the Jets' Week 2 victory over the Patriots.

Our View: A lot has happened since that embarrassing loss for New England. Moss has gone on his usual tear, while New England has revved up and New York cooled off. The Pats are also coming off an embarrassing loss in Indianapolis. While Revis is a shutdown corner, the Jets have been decimated defensively since their Week 2 triumph, and with Moss coming off of two straight 140-yard games, it's hard not to believe he won't get his revenge on Revis this Sunday.
Joey Galloway, WR Tuesday 11/17, 4:47 PM CT
Joey Galloway auditioned for the Bengals today, according to Adam Schefter's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View: The Bengals could use better depth at receiver after losing top slot man Chris Henry for the season. Quarterback Carson Palmer is having a good year, but Galloway would likely hold little fantasy value if signed by Cincinnati.
Stephen Neal, T Monday 11/16, 9:16 AM CT
Stephen Neal did not return to the Patriots' game on Sunday night after suffering a head injury, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: His status has yet to be updated. Tom Brady's surgically repaired knee is certainly hoping it will not be without its starting right guard in Week 11.
Sam Aiken, WR Monday 11/16, 9:00 AM CT
Sam Aiken's (hip) injury status should be updated sometime in the next day or two, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: With Julian Edelman set to return from his broken arm, it looks like Aiken's time as the Pats' number three receiver was a short lived one. He isn't worth owning as a WR3.
Wes Welker, WR Sunday 11/15, 11:30 PM CT
Wes Welker performed well in Sunday night's 35-34 loss at Indianapolis, as he caught nine passes for 94 yards.

Our View: The star receiver is averaging nine receptions and 104 yards over his last five games, and should remain among the steadiest fantasy performers at the position.
Randy Moss, WR Sunday 11/15, 11:21 PM CT
Randy Moss hauled in nine passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday night's 35-34 loss at Indianapolis.

Our View: The stud receiver has now racked up 524 receiving yards and six touchdowns over his last four games. He should continue to perform up to high expectations for fantasy owners.
Kevin Faulk, RB Sunday 11/15, 11:14 PM CT
Kevin Faulk led the Patriots in rushing in Sunday night's 35-34 loss at Indianapolis, with 12 carries for 79 yards. He also caught two passes for seven receiving yards.

Our View: Faulk enjoyed his best rushing performance of the season, while Laurence Maroney only gained 31 yards on 13 carries (but scored a touchdown).
Tom Brady, QB Sunday 11/15, 11:05 PM CT
Tom Brady performed well in Sunday night's 35-34 loss at Indianapolis, as he completed 29-of-42 passes for 375 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception.

Our View: Brady fell short in his bid to leave Lucas Oil Stadium with a win - but had a great night for fantasy owners. He topped 300 yards in his fourth straight game, and has 19 touchdown passes for the season.
Sam Aiken, WR Sunday 11/15, 10:18 PM CT
Sam Aiken injured his hip during tonight's game at Indianapolis, according to the Patriots' official twitter page.

Our View: Aiken's return is questionable. He does not contribute enough as a backup receiver to be missed in fantasy leagues.
Stephen Neal, T Sunday 11/15, 10:16 PM CT
Stephen Neal suffered a head injury during tonight's game at Indianapolis, according to Mike Reiss' (Boston Globe) twitter page.

Our View: Neal's return is questionable. He is New England's starting right guard.
Rob Ninkovich, LB Sunday 11/15, 10:09 PM CT
Rob Ninkovich went down with an apparent right knee injury in tonight's game at Indianapolis, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Ninkovich was assisted off the field, and his return is questionable. He does not contribute enough to be missed in IDP leagues.
Tully Banta-Cain, LB Sunday 11/15, 8:51 PM CT
Tully Banta-Cain suffered a rib injury during tonight's battle at Indianapolis, according to the Patriots' official twitter page.

Our View: His return is questionable. Banta-Cain is a quality rush linebacker when healthy.
Sammy Morris, RB Sunday 11/15, 6:24 PM CT
Patriots inactives: RB Sammy Morris, RB Fred Taylor, T Matt Light, DE Jarvis Green, LB Eric Alexander, G Rich Ohrnberger, CB Shawn Springs, DE Ty Warren.

Our View: Laurence Maroney will start at running back with both Morris (knee) and Taylor (ankle) out. Star defensive end Warren will be missed while the club tries to slow down Peyton Manning and the Colts on their home turf at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Julian Edelman, WR Sunday 11/15, 5:00 PM CT
Julian Edelman (forearm) may be a game-time decision for the Week 10 game against the Colts, Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com tweets.

Our View: Edelman has been out since Week 6, and we haven't been expecting him to return this Sunday night. If he does play, he will be the No. 3 option. If he's out, Sam Aiken will continue to provide depth.
Isaiah Stanback, WR Saturday 11/14, 8:16 PM CT
The Patriots have promoted Isaiah Stanback from their practice squad, according to ProFootballTalk.com. The club placed rookie Brandon Tate on injured reserve as the adjoining move.

Our View: Stanback does not look to see enough action with New England to merit fantasy attention.
Brandon Tate, WR Saturday 11/14, 8:01 PM CT
Brandon Tate has been placed on injured reserve by the Patriots, according to Mike Reiss' (Boston Globe) twitter page. The club promoted Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad as the adjoining move.

Our View: Tate only appeared in two games following his long recovery from knee surgery. The rookie could have made an impact as a return man if healthy this season.
Sammy Morris, RB Saturday 11/14, 6:59 PM CT
Sammy Morris has been ruled out for Sunday night's game at Indianapolis, according to the Patriots' official twitter page.

Our View: Morris will be missing his third straight game with a knee injury. Fred Taylor (ankle) is also out, so Laurence Maroney should handle the bulk of the workload at running back. The Colts are ranked 14th in run defense.
Ben Watson, TE Friday 11/13, 11:12 PM CT
Ben Watson fully practiced Friday and is expected to play in Sunday night's game at Indianapolis, according to NFL.com. He has been dealing with a back ailment.

Our View: This is good news, but Watson will have a very tough matchup - as the Colts have only allowed 237 yards and one touchdown to tight ends over eight games.
Ty Warren, DE Friday 11/13, 11:09 PM CT
Ty Warren was limited in Friday's practice while nursing his ankle ailment, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Warren is questionable for Sunday night's battle at Indianapolis. He is the Patriots' best defensive end, and will be a tough loss if hindered or unable to play.
Brandon Meriweather, S Friday 11/13, 10:17 PM CT
Brandon Meriweather was limited in Friday's practice after sitting out the previous two days, according to NFL.com. He is recovering from a foot injury.

Our View: Meriweather is questionable for Sunday night's game at Indianapolis. He has been a key contributor to the Patriots' fourth ranked pass defense, and will be needed to slow down elite quarterback Peyton Manning.
Randy Moss, WR Friday 11/13, 9:59 PM CT
Randy Moss did not practice Friday, according to NFL.com.

Our View: His absence was non-injury related, and was merely resting his previously ailing shoulder. Moss should be ready to go for Sunday night's showdown at Indianapolis.
Brandon Tate, WR Friday 11/13, 7:25 PM CT
SB Nation reports that rookie wide receiver Brandon Tate has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Colts.

Our View: Tate missed practice this week due to an injury to his knee that was recently surgically repaired. Sam Aiken will take his place in the WR3 spot on Sunday.
Fred Taylor, RB Friday 11/13, 4:29 PM CT
Fred Taylor has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Our View: Taylor will be missing his fifth straight game with an ankle injury. Sammy Morris (knee) is questionable, so Laurence Maroney could continue to handle the bulk of the workload at running back.
Matt Light, T Friday 11/13, 3:44 PM CT
Matt Light is doubtful for Week 10, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

Our View: The Patriots' mainstay at left tackle will be out for his fourth straight games. Sebastian Vollmer will continue to start in his absence.
Sammy Morris, RB Friday 11/13, 11:15 AM CT
Sammy Morris (knee) participated in Patriots practice on Friday, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Our View: He still isn't likely to play this weekend, however. Week 11 seems like a much more realistic possibility for his return. What role he will serve is uncertain, as Laurence Maroney has seemingly nailed down the team's feature back role in his absence.
Brandon Meriweather, S Thursday 11/12, 6:00 PM CT
Brandon Meriweather missed his second consecutive day of practice on Thursday, according to the Patriots' official website. Meriweather is still nursing an injured foot.

Our View: The Pats should be getting a bit concerned, as they will need Meriweather if they are going to slow down the Colts' passing game this weekend. Watch tomorrow to see if Meriweather is able to get back on the field.
Tom Brady, QB Thursday 11/12, 5:51 PM CT
Tom Brady was a full participant in Patriots' practice on Thursday, according to the team's official website. Brady is still dealing with a sore right shoulder.

Our View: Brady is obviously fine, and will be full speed for the huge match-up against the undefeated Colts. Manning vs. Brady will be on this weekend, so expect plenty of fireworks.
Brandon Tate, WR Thursday 11/12, 1:07 PM CT
The Boston Globe reports that rookie receiver Brandon Tate missed Thursday's practice with a knee injury.

Our View: There is no word on the severity of the injury, but is some concern that Tate may have aggravated his surgically repaired knee. If he is held out of Week 10's matchup against the Colts, Sam Aiken would take over the WR3 spot.
Ben Watson, TE Wednesday 11/11, 6:34 PM CT
Ben Watson fully practiced Wednesday, according to NFL.com. He has been dealing with a back ailment.

Our View: Watson is yet to miss a game this season, and caught four passes for 49 yards in Week 9 against Miami. He should be good to go for Sunday night's outing against the Colts.
Ty Warren, DE Wednesday 11/11, 6:31 PM CT
Ty Warren did not practice Wednesday while nursing his ankle ailment, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Warren is yet to miss a game this season, and should be able to play in Sunday night's showdown at Indianapolis if he practices through the rest of the week fine.
Fred Taylor, RB Wednesday 11/11, 6:28 PM CT
Fred Taylor missed today's practice while still recovering from his ankle injury, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Taylor would be missing his fifth straight game if unable to return Sunday night at Indianapolis. Laurence Maroney has been getting the bulk of the workload at running back with Sammy Morris (knee) also on the shelf.
Randy Moss, WR Wednesday 11/11, 6:25 PM CT
Randy Moss sat out Wednesday's practice, according to NFL.com. His absence was non-injury related.

Our View: Moss was just resting his previously ailing shoulder, and should be good to go for Sunday night's battle at Indianapolis. The stud receiver racked up 345 yards and four touchdowns over his last three games.
Sammy Morris, RB Wednesday 11/11, 6:22 PM CT
Sammy Morris missed today's practice while recovering from his knee injury, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Morris missed the last two games, and is uncertain to return Sunday night at Indianapolis. Laurence Maroney has been filling in as the No. 1 running back with Fred Taylor (ankle) also down.
Brandon Meriweather, S Wednesday 11/11, 6:18 PM CT
Brandon Meriweather did not practice Wednesday, according to NFL.com. He is nursing a foot ailment.

Our View: Meriweather is a good playmaker at safety, and will be needed while the Patriots try to slow down Peyton Manning and Co. at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday night.
Sammy Morris, RB Monday 11/9, 3:50 PM CT
Sammy Morris (knee) was seen walking in the Patriots' locker room without any "discernible" limp on Monday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Morris hasn't carried the ball since Week 5. In his absence, Laurence Maroney has done a semi-decent job of solidifying the position for the Pats. If Morris returns this weekend, expect the pair to be involved in some kind of time share.
Laurence Maroney, RB Sunday 11/8, 5:22 PM CT
Laurence Maroney toted the rock 20 times for 82 yards and a touchdown in the Week 9 victory over Miami.

Our View: In the last three games, Maroney has compiled 49 carries for 248 yards and three touchdowns. He is averaging 5.0 yards per carry during this period with zero fumbles. Sammy Morris is likely out for at least two more weeks and Maroney is staking his claim to be the Patriots' featured back for the remainder of the season.
Tom Brady, QB Sunday 11/8, 5:18 PM CT
Tom Brady completed 25-of-37 passes for 332 yards with one touchdown against one interception in the Week 9 victory over Miami.

Our View: Brady, who has thrown 12 touchdowns in the last four games, just missed another score when wide receiver Randy Moss was pulled down at the one-yard line after a beautiful one-handed catch in the first quarter. Next up, the stingy Colts secondary which has allowed only four scores through the air in eight games this season.
Wes Welker, WR Sunday 11/8, 4:48 PM CT
Wes Welker posted nine receptions for 84 yards in the Week 9 win over Miami.

Our View: With six or more catches in every start this season, Welker continues to be a sick point-per-reception machine. He has also scored four touchdowns in the last four games.
Randy Moss, WR Sunday 11/8, 4:43 PM CT
Randy Moss had six catches for 147 yards and one touchdown in the Week 9 victory over Miami.

Our View: In the last three games, Moss has notched 19 receptions for 345 yards (18.1 YPC) and four touchdowns. In Week 10, the Patriots visit Indianapolis where they will face a Colts defense that has only allowed four scores through the air this season.
Dan Koppen, C Sunday 11/8, 1:27 PM CT
Dan Koppen exited the game against Miami in the second quarter with a knee injury, according to Mike Reiss' twitter page.

Our View: Dan Connolly has taken his place in the lineup at center. Koppen is questionable to return, and no additional information is currently available regarding the severity of the injury.
Sammy Morris, RB Sunday 11/8, 10:52 AM CT
Week 9 inactives: RB Sammy Morris, RB Fred Taylor, WR Julian Edelman, CB Jonathan Wilhite, LB Eric Alexander, OT Matt Light, OG Rich Ohrnberger, and DE Jarvis Green.

Our View: As expected, QB Tom Brady (shoulder) and WR Randy Moss (shoulder) are active and will start. TE Ben Watson (back) is active and will play, while DE Ty Warren (ankle) is active and will start. With both Taylor and Morris sidelined this week, RB Laurence Maroney draws the start and Kevin Faulk will handle the third-down duties.
Kyle Arrington, CB Sunday 11/8, 7:47 AM CT
Kyle Arrington has been signed to the Patriots' 53-man roster.

Our View: He is replacing guard Kendall Simmons. He should primarily play on special teams.
Tom Brady, QB Saturday 11/7, 10:33 AM CT
Responding to recent criticism levied by Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter, Tom Brady says he doesn't believe that he receives preferential treatment from NFL referees, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: "I think the ref calls what he sees," he said. "I don't think I've ever influenced a call. The refs we have are very good. If they make a call on (roughing the passer), great. If they don't, that's fine." A diplomatic response from Brady - also a false one.
Sammy Morris, RB Friday 11/6, 5:17 PM CT
Sammy Morris will miss Week 9 against Miami due to his ailing knee, according to WEEI.com.

Our View: It is uncertain when Morris may be ready to return to the gridiron, and should remain held out of fantasy lineups until further notice.
Fred Taylor, RB Friday 11/6, 5:14 PM CT
Fred Taylor has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, according to WEEI Sports.

Our View: The 33-year-old vet will be missing his fourth straight game due to an ankle injury. Sammy Morris (knee) is also out, so Laurence Maroney should handle the bulk of the workload at running back.
Ty Warren, DE Friday 11/6, 5:11 PM CT
Ty Warren was limited in practice for the second straight day Friday, according to WEEI.com.

Our View: Warren is recovering from an ankle injury, and is questionable for Sunday's home game against Miami. He is a solid defensive end when healthy.
Ben Watson, TE Friday 11/6, 5:07 PM CT
Ben Watson was limited in practice for the third straight day Friday, according to WEEI Sports.

Our View: He is dealing with a back ailment, and is questionable for Sunday's game against Miami.
Randy Moss, WR Friday 11/6, 5:05 PM CT
Randy Moss fully practiced for the third straight day Friday, according to WEEI.com.

Our View: Moss has been nursing a shoulder ailment, but looks to be fine for Sunday's battle with Miami at Gillette Stadium. The stud receiver should do well against the Dolphins' 21st ranked pass defense.
Tom Brady, QB Friday 11/6, 5:02 PM CT
Tom Brady is probable for Sunday's home game against Miami, according to WEEI Sports.

Our View: Brady fully practiced all week with no issues with his right shoulder, and was never uncertain to play Sunday. He has a good matchup as the Dolphins are ranked 21st in pass defense.
Kendall Simmons, T Friday 11/6, 11:42 AM CT
Kendall Simmons has been released by the Patriots.

Our View: Simmons appeared in just one game this season after signing a new contract in September.
Ty Warren, DE Thursday 11/5, 5:20 PM CT
Ty Warren was limited in practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday, according to the Providence Journal. He is recovering from an ankle injury.

Our View: This is encouraging regarding his availabilty for Sunday's home game against Miami. Warren is having a fine season so far with 41 tackles (31 solo) and two sacks.
Randy Moss, WR Thursday 11/5, 5:16 PM CT
Randy Moss fully practiced for the second straight day Thursday, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: Moss is not bothered by his shoulder ailment, and should be ready to go for Sunday's divisional battle with Miami. The stud receiver scored four touchdowns over four games in October.
Ben Watson, TE Thursday 11/5, 5:11 PM CT
Ben Watson was limited in practice for the second straight day Thursday, according to the Providence Journal. He is nursing a back ailment.

Our View: Watson should be a good bet to play Sunday against Miami. He only has 15 receptions, but scored four touchdowns for fantasy owners.
Sammy Morris, RB Thursday 11/5, 5:01 PM CT
Sammy Morris missed practice for the second straight day Thursday, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: Morris is on the shelf indefinitely while recovering from a knee injury. Fred Taylor (ankle) is also not practicing, meaning Laurence Maroney should handle the bulk of the workload at running back Sunday against Miami.
Fred Taylor, RB Thursday 11/5, 4:55 PM CT
Fred Taylor did not practice for the second straight day Thursday, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View: The 33-year-old vet missed the last three games with an ankle injury, and his odds of returning Sunday against Miami do not look good as of now. Sammy Morris (knee) is also not practicing, so Laurence Maroney could see most of the action at running back.
Ben Watson, TE Wednesday 11/4, 11:34 PM CT
Ben Watson was limited in Wednesday's practice while nursing his ailing back, according to NFL.com.

Our View: Watson is yet to miss a game this season, and should be able to play Sunday against Miami, assuming his back does not get worse. Watson scored four touchdowns on only 15 receptions so far this season.
Ty Warren, DE Wednesday 11/4, 5:30 PM CT
Ty Warren missed today's practice while recovering from his ankle injury, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View: Warren is yet to miss a game this season, and had extra time to heal with the bye in Week 8. He is a rock-solid defensive end when healthy, and hopefully he can play Sunday when the Patriots host Ronnie Brown and the Dolphins.
Fred Taylor, RB Wednesday 11/4, 5:27 PM CT
Fred Taylor missed Wednesday's practice due to his ailing ankle, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View: Taylor missed the last three games, and it is uncertain if the 33-year-old vet will be able to return Sunday against Miami. Sammy Morris (knee) also missed practice, meaning Laurence Maroney could handle the bulk of the workload at running back.
James Sanders, S Wednesday 11/4, 5:23 PM CT
James Sanders was limited in today's practice while nursing his shoulder ailment, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View: Sanders played in Week 7, and should be ready to go Sunday against Miami while coming off the bye.
Tom Brady, QB Wednesday 11/4, 5:19 PM CT
Tom Brady (right shoulder) fully practiced Wednesday, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View: Brady has fired 11 touchdown passes over his last three games, and looks to remain hot against the Dolphins this weekend, who are ranked 21st in pass defense.
Randy Moss, WR Wednesday 11/4, 5:15 PM CT
Randy Moss fully practiced Wednesday, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View: The elite receiver has been nursing a shoulder ailment, but should be good to go for Sunday's home game against the Dolphins, who are ranked 21st in pass defense.
Sammy Morris, RB Wednesday 11/4, 1:08 PM CT
According to the Boston Herald, running back Sammy Morris did not practice on Wednesday and is out indefinitely due to a knee injury.

Our View: There is still no timetable for Morris' return and Laurence Maroney owners will continue to reap the rewards while Morris is sidelined.
Mike Wright, DT Wednesday 11/4, 9:57 AM CT
The Boston Herald reports that Mike Wright will replace Jarvis Green on the defensive line this week.

Our View: Green is out for 2-4 weeks with a knee injury, so Wright figures to see a much bigger role for the time being at least. He has played all over the defensive line this season and has totaled 17 tackles and a team-leading four sacks. Expect his production to increase now that he has a starting role as opposed to his prior "jack-of-all-trades" job description.
Adalius Thomas, LB Tuesday 11/3, 5:37 PM CT
Adalius Thomas (undisclosed) was absent from Tuesday's practice, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View: Thomas was not motivated to perform better following his benching, as he only made one solo tackle in Week 7 at Tampa Bay. He will not be a recommended option for IDP leagues in Sunday's game against Miami.
Jarvis Green, DE Tuesday 11/3, 9:43 AM CT
Jarvis Green will be out until early December after undergoing knee surgery last week, according to Comcast Sports.

Our View: Green has just 18 tackles so far this season as he has tried to play through his injury. A combination of players should fill in for him.
