Newsbreakers
October 27, 2009
Tom Curran of Comcast New England reports that Falcons' rookie safety William Moore has been placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Our View:The Missouri product had been limited all season by the injury, appearing in just two games. Don't expect to hear his name again until training camp next summer.
October 22, 2009
Rookie safety William Moore missed his second consecutive day of practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. Moore's status for this week's game against the Cowboys is uncertain.

Our View:Moore has been dealing with hamstring issues all season, and he left last week's game after aggravating the injury. It's not looking good for this week, as his rookie year continues to be a lost one.
October 18, 2009
Strong safety William Moore exited Sunday night's game against the Bears with a hamstring injury and is not expected to return to action.

Our View:The rookie defender has struggled with hamstring issues all season, so it's no surprise that he aggravated it in Sunday's game. The injury issues have relegated him to being mostly a special teams player.
October 8, 2009
J. Michael Moore of AtlantaFalcons.com is reporting that rookie safety William Moore has had a good week of practice and will play this Sunday against the 49ers. Moore has been limited by a hamstring injury over the last few weeks.

Our View:Moore is apparently very close to being fully healthy, and he should see some time on the field this week. He has the talent to be a very good safety in this league, but his injury has slowed his development in his rookie season.

Falcons Week 2 inactives: OT Garrett Reynolds, QB John Parker Wilson, OT Quinn Ojinnaka, LB Spencer Adkins, DL Trey Lewis, CB Tye Hill, FB Verron Haynes, SS William Moore.

Our View:Rookie Moore continues to be hindered by his ailing hamstring. The other inactives are backups, and the Falcons should manage fine in today's home game against Carolina.

William Moore was forced to leave the Falcons' preseason game against the Chargers in the second quarter with a hamstring injury on Saturday night, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:Moore is having something of a cursed preseason, as he had just recently returned to practice from a knee injury. If he stays healthy this season, he will play on special teams.
August 29, 2009
William Moore will see action on special teams and participate on defense in the second half of Saturday's preseason game against the Chargers, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:The rookie missed significant time in training camp after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee. He returned to practice this week, and has a bit of catching up to do before he can contribute and push for playing time in the Falcons' secondary.
August 25, 2009
Three weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee, rookie safety William Moore was back at Falcons practice on Tuesday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:The team has already said Moore's main contributions this season will come on special teams, so he isn't a rookie to watch in IDP leagues.
August 9, 2009
William Moore is expected to focus mostly on special teams this season, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Our View:The Falcons' talented second round pick is going to miss a few weeks of camp after undergoing surgery on his left knee last week, and wouldn't have had enough time to learn all the ins and the outs of the team's defense to be a meaningful contributor this season.
August 6, 2009
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, second-round draft choice William Moore is expected to miss one to four weeks after undergoing a "procedure" on his left knee.

Our View:The Falcons just signed the safety to a four-year deal on July 23rd, and now they lose him to what seems like an arthroscopic procedure. He also will lose valuable time and reps in his battle with Thomas DeCoud for the starting SS spot. The later now has to be considered the favorite.
July 23, 2009
Second-round pick William Moore has inked a four-year deal with the Falcons worth $3.35MM, according to ProFootballTalk.com. The deal includes a $1.1MM signing bonus.

Our View:Moore will compete for the starting gig at strong safety in training camp. He has great size (6-0, 220 pounds) and speed, and could make a solid impact right away, namely if he improves his instincts. Moore is worth targeting for keeper IDP leagues, and is worth a look as a rookie flier in traditional leagues as well.
April 25, 2009
The Atlanta Falcons selected Missouri safety William Moore in the second round with the 55th overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft.

Our View:At 6-foot-0, 220 pounds, Moore is an intimidating presence in the defensive backfield. However, he has struggled with durability issues, including a broken foot in 2005 and a torn labrum in 2008. Moore also lacked fluidity during the Senior Bowl, leading some scouts to believe that he will fit better at outside linebacker on the next level.
