After getting second and third opinions on his balky left knee, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has elected to undergo arthroscopic surgery, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:He will have the operation in 2-to-3 weeks. The expected recovery time is about two months, leaving him plenty of time to get 100 percent healthy before next summer's training camp.

According to Manish Mehta on Twitter, Mark Sanchez is considering having surgery on his left knee to fix his patella stabilizing ligament.

Our View:If Sanchez decides to have the surgery he would be on the shelf for about two months, so it shouldn't affect his status for next season. He originally injured the knee in 2008 at USC and it flared up at times this past season, so the procedure would prevent any future backlash from the injury. He is expected to make a decision within the next week.

Mark Sanchez completed 17-of-30 passes for 257 yards in Sunday's 30-17 loss at Indianapolis in the AFC title game. He threw two touchdowns and one interception.

Our View:The rookie quarterback played fine, but the defense could not contain Peyton Manning and the Colts' high-powered offense. Sanchez had a strong campaign, and has a lot to build upon for 2010.

Mark Sanchez (knee) is probable for this weekend's AFC title tilt with the Colts, according to Pro Football Talk.

Our View:He is perfectly fine, however, and will be under center managing the game as always. The Jets come into this weekend's all-important game very healthy, with only eight players listed as probable, and none as questionable.
