Jared Cook is still recovering from his ankle injury, according to the Tennessean.

Our View:The rookie is yet to make his regular season debut, but head coach Jeff Fisher is hopeful that he will be able to play this weekend at Jacksonville. Cook is a great athlete and could make an impact, especially with starter Bo Scaife dealing with a knee injury.

The Nashville Tennessean is reporting that Titans' rookie tight end Jared Cook returned to practice on Thursday. Cook has been sidelined with an ankle injury that caused him to miss the team's Week 1 game against the Steelers.

Our View:Head Coach Jeff Fisher wouldn't confirm that Cook will play for sure this weekend, but we expect him to see at least some time. Bo Scaife did not practice yesterday, so Cook could factor into the offense if he can get on the field.

Jared Cook missed Wednesday's practice while nursing an ankle injury, according to the Tennessean.

Our View:Head coach Jeff Fisher stated that Cook's absence today does not mean he will not play Sunday against Houston. The tight end has the physical tools to make a solid impact in the Titans' aerial attack when healthy.

Jared Cook is expected to play in the Titans' next game on September 20 against the Texans, according to the Nashville Tennessean. Cook missed Thursday's season-opener against the Steelers with an ankle injury.

Our View:Cook is highly thought of in the Titans' organization, and he will see his first real NFL action in Week 2. This kid looks like an excellent offensive prospect at the tight end position, but he might be a year away from having any fantasy status with Bo Scaife in front of him on the depth chart.

According to the Nashville Tennessean, tight end Jared Cook (ankle) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Steelers.

Our View:This means more touches for Bo Scaife, but he's still a rough fantasy start against a staunch Pittsburgh D. Other Titans inactives are RB Chris Henry, CB Ryan Mouton, OL Troy Kropog, WR Lavelle Hawkins, DT Sen'Derrick Marks and DE Dave Ball.

Jared Cook is listed as questionable for Thursday's season opener at Heinz Field, according to the Steelers' official website. He is nursing an ankle injury.

Our View:The rookie tight end is expected to be a game-time decision. Starter Bo Scaife and Alge Crumpler would handle the workload at tight end if Cook is unable to go.

Jared Cook missed practice with the Titans Tuesday, according to the Tennessean. He is recovering from an ankle injury.

Our View:The rookie tight end will be a game-time call for Thursday's battle at Pittsburgh. Alge Crumpler would see more action behind Bo Scaife if Cook is unable to play.

According to the Nashville Tennessean, Titans' tight end Jared Cook left the team's last preseason game with an ankle injury. Cook was seen walking with a limp and wearing a protective boot after the game.

Our View:The Titans don't believe this injury is anything to be worried about, but the preseason is all about being cautious. He could probably play in the team's next game, but it remains to be seen if the team will rest him or let him play. He should be ready for Week 1 without a problem.

The Titans are impressed with rookie Jared Cook, according to Sports Illustrated. Head coach Jeff Fisher said, "He has got that ability to play outside. It is another weapon. It is Chris Johnson at the tight end position."

Our View:Cook is a great athlete, and the Titans intend to move him around to create mismatches for opposing defenses. He needs work on his blocking skills, but looks to make an impact as a pass catcher this season. He is worth targeting as a late-round flier for standard leagues, and should also be scooped up in keeper leagues.

According to ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky, rookie tight end Jared Cook could see action on opening night if he continues to perform the way he has so far in camp.

Our View:Bo Scaife is still holds the role of starter due to Cook's poor blocking skills, but the rookie will see some time on passing downs and could get the bulk of offensive looks at the position. If he continues to progress in camp he could have some decent fantasy value in the upcoming season.
July 2, 2009
Rookie tight end Jared Cook inked a four-year deal with the Titans, according to the Tennessean. He will earn $310,000 this season, $395,000 in 2010, $480,000 in 2011, and $565,000 in the final year of the contract.

Our View:Cook has turned heads in practice with fantastic catches, and the Titans intend to use his size (6-5, 246 pounds) and good athletic ability to create mismatches. He should register a blip on the fantasy radar as a rookie, but his playing time will be limited while stuck behind Bo Scaife and Alge Crumpler on the depth chart at tight end. He is worth targeting in keeper leagues.

31-year-old vet Alge Crumpler has been mentoring rookie Jared Cook, according to the Tennessean. Cook said, "Crump is like a coach. It is just great to have someone like that around, a big savvy guy who knows a lot and can teach you a lot. I learn something from him every day."

Our View:Cook has dealt with dropped passes in practice, but has also impressed with great catches. Cook is a good athlete and the Titans intend to use his 6-5, 246-pound frame to create mismatches for opposing defenses. Cook could make an impact in the Titans' aerial attack this season, but his fantasy value will be limited while fighting for playing time behind Bo Scaife and Crumpler at tight end.

Titans' offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger compared rookie Jared Cook's (South Carolina) receiving skills to those of Ed McCaffrey, according to the Nashville City Paper. Heimerdinger said, "Ed McCaffrey was that big. I do not know if there are many tight ends that big. I cannot remember any tight ends like that, because he is so big."

Our View:McCaffrey enjoyed a solid career in Denver, namely when Heimerdinger coached the receivers position. Heimerdinger would like to use tight end Cook to create mismatches with his size (6-5, 246 pounds) and athletic ability. He should start the season third on the depth chart behind Alge Crumpler and Bo Scaife.
April 26, 2009
The Tennessee Titans selected South Carolina tight end Jared Cook in the third round with the 89th overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft.

Our View:The underclassman was arguably the most impressive tight end at the Combine, posting the best marks at his position in the forty-yard dash (4.5), vertical jump (41 inches) and broad jump (10 feet, 9 inches). Cook isn't an accomplished blocker, but his receiving skills and speed are off-the-charts.

Jared Cook (South Carolina) is expected to visit the Raiders today, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Cook has good hands and speed, and Raiders' coach Tom Cable is looking for the right tight end to complement starter Zach Miller's game. Cook could be their guy, and is projected to go in the second or third round of the draft.
March 24, 2009
Jared Cook (South Carolina) is expected to visit the Falcons, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:The Falcons could use depth at tight end, and Cook could be available in the third or fourth round of the draft. He has good hands and body control, but lacks the blocking skills that their offense requires, however.
March 9, 2009
The Bengals are reportedly interested in South Carolina tight end Jared Cook, according to the Middletown Journal. He is believed to be on the Browns' radar as well.

Our View:Cook has good hands and excels at reaching out to catch balls. He is a former receiver who currently lacks the size and strength to hold up as a blocker. He is projected to be drafted in the third or fourth round.
