The Seattle Times predicts that 25-year-old tight end John Carlson will have a breakout season this year.

Our View:Carlson caught 55 balls for 627 yards and five scores as a rookie in 2008. The 55 receptions led the team and were fourth amongst all NFL rookies. He is certainly worth a later round draft pick, and could be a legitimate no. 1 tight end this year in most leagues.

ESPN.com reports that tight end John Carlson is being used extensively in multiple formations and on third down. He has reported looked very impressive early on in minicamps.

Our View:The six-foot-five tight end had an impressive rookie campaign when he hauled in 55 catches for 627 yards and five touchdowns. He led the club in receptions and could very well do so again in 2009. He has Top-5 tight end potential and could be even better with Matt Hasselbeck under center.

John Carlson led the Seahawks with 55 receptions and 627 yards this season, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:Carlson became the first rookie to lead the club in receiving since Hall of Famer Steve Largent in 1976. Carlson has a bright future ahead of him with the Seahawks and should make a bigger impact in 2009, namely in PPR leagues.

John Carlson had just two catches and 21 yards on Sunday against the Jets, but he did manage to catch a two-yard touchdown strike.
