The foot surgery Jonathan Stewart underwent on Wednesday was to alleviate "lingering pain" in his left Achilles, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:Stewart also underwent "minor" surgery on one of his pinky fingers on Wednesday. He is expected to be ready for Carolina's first minicamp in May. In just his second year in the league in 2009, Stewart took the ball 221 times for 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged a robust 5.1 yards per carry.

On his own Twitter page, Jonathan Stewart stated that he'll be undergoing foot surgery today.

Our View:No other details have been revealed, but it seems safe to assume that the surgery will be performed to repair the Achilles injury that kept Stewart from practicing nearly all season. At this point it seems safe to assume that Stewart will be fine and ready to go by Week 1 next season, although we'll know more once further details emerge.

After 16 carries and 125 yards, Jonathan Stewart left Sunday's game against the Saints with an Achilles injury.

Our View:Stewart has been limited for some time by the injury and likely pulled himself out in order not to further strain the tendon. If it's anything more serious, we'll let you know.

According to the Associated Press, running back Jonathan Stewart (Achilles) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints.

Our View:Stewart returned to practice on Friday after resting his nagging Achilles the previous two days. DeAngelo Williams hasn't practiced all week due to an ankle injury, so Stewart looks like the more likely candidate to start on Sunday. He has been playing through the injury all year.
