Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said he would like to see Felix Jones get more touches, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Doesn't Jerry say this every week? That being said, Felix has averaged an all-too-low nine touches per game since returning from a knee injury four games ago, and the Cowboys would indeed be wise to heed the advice of their owner and get him more involved in the game.
November 14, 2009
The Dallas Morning News is reporting the the Cowboys won't be using running back Felix Jones as their kick returner. Jones is still recovering from a knee injury, and the team doesn't want to risk hurting it further.

Our View:Smart move here by the team, as it isn't worth the risk to have him back there. This will be a minor hit to the Cowboys' D/ST fantasy unit, but it looks like Tashard Choice or Kevin Ogletree will be used in the role going forward.
October 25, 2009
Felix Jones (knee) returned for the Cowboys and looked alright, gaining 37 yards off eight carries and catching two more for six yards. Jones also lost a fumble.

Our View:Jones appears to have regained his role as Marion Barber's backup, as Tashard Choice went without a single carry. Look for Jones to be an explosive but inconsistent flex option.
October 24, 2009
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that Cowboys' running back Felix Jones worked at full speed and without a brace on his knee in Friday's practice. Coach Wade Phillips said he plans to use Jones "quite a bit" during Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Our View:It sounds as if Jones is finally back to full speed, but it will be interesting to see how the team uses him this week. Tashard Choice and Marion Barber are both expected to play as well, so Jones is not likely to be a great fantasy option this week.
October 23, 2009
The Dallas Morning News reports that Felix Jones will not be limited by his knee injury on Sunday, though he could wear a brace.

Our View:We've heard this one before. Tashard Choice is expected to get the bulk of the Cowboys carries against the 4-1 Falcons on Sunday, while what Jones will do after missing the past three weeks is a total mystery.
October 21, 2009
The Dallas Morning News reports that running back Felix Jones participated in practice on Wednesday.

Our View:Jones' knee injury has kept him out for an extended period of time, but he appears to be healthy enough to return to the field this Sunday. He will handle kickoff returns, but likely won't get many carries behind Marion Barber and Tashard Choice. Now simply a change of pace back, he has significantly less fantasy value than he did at the beginning of the season.
October 9, 2009
Cowbows' running back Felix Jones has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs with a sprained knee, according to ESPNDallas. Jones has been out since suffering the injury against the Panthers on September 28.

Our View:No surprise here, as Jones was expected to be out again this week. Tashard Choice will once again have an increased workload as the primary backup to Marion Barber this week.
October 7, 2009
Felix Jones (knee) did not practice on Wednesday, and likely will not play on Sunday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:The Cowboys have a bye in Week 6, so they hope that with two more weeks of rest he can be 100 percent for Week 7. With Jones' checkered injury history, it's no sure thing.
October 6, 2009
Felix Jones is doubtful for Week 5 with a knee injury, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:He is still dealing with the sprained PCL in his left knee that kept him out in Week 4. With the Cowboys taking on the 0-4 Chiefs in Week 5, Jones will not be pushed to play. Marion Barber and Tashard Choice will again get the bulk of the Cowboys carries.
October 4, 2009
Week 4 inactives: QB Stephen McGee (3rd), RB Felix Jones, S Michael Hamlin, OG Montrae Holland, C Duke Preston, OT Pat McQuistan, WR Kevin Ogletree and LB Curtis Johnson.

Our View:RB Marion Barber (quad) is active and will start, while Tashard Choice is expected to be heavily involved with Jones (knee) inactive. On defense, LB DeMarcus Ware (neck) is active and will start.
September 30, 2009
ESPN.com is reporting that Cowboys' running back Felix Jones will miss 1-to-2 weeks with a sprained PCL in his left knee. Jones will be evaluated both this week and next to determine when he will be able to return.

Our View:This injury is unfortunate for both Jones and the Cowboys, as he looked outstanding on Monday night before going down. Tashard Choice will be the biggest benefactor of Jones being out, and he could carry the load this week if Marion Barber isn't 100 percent.
September 29, 2009
ESPN.com reports that Cowboys coach Wade Phillips says he's hopeful that running back Felix Jones will play on Sunday against Denver.

Our View:This sounds like Phillips is being overly optimistic. Earlier reports have Jones missing Week 4 and possibly being out two weeks with a strained PCL, so we're not banking on him playing. With Marion Barber's status in doubt as well, Tashard Choice could be a nice play at running back on Sunday.
September 29, 2009
ESPN Dallas reports that Felix Jones will be unable to go this Sunday against the Broncos as he battles a strained knee.

Our View:A bad break for Jones, who rushed for 94 yards on just eight carries in the Cowboys win over the Panthers on Monday night. With starter Marion Barber also ailing, Tashard Choice may be the feature back for the Cowboys in Denver.
September 29, 2009
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that running back Felix Jones could be forced to miss up to two weeks because of his strained knee.

Our View:Of course, today is just the first day after he suffered the injury, but the already famously creaky Jones will likely take the maximum amount of time to recover. Marion Barber probably will return in Week 4, but if not, Tashard Choice will be the choice at running back for Dallas.
September 29, 2009
Felix Jones will have an MRI on his strained quad on Tuesday, according to the Dallas Morning News. He had 94 yards on eight carries before pulling up lame in Monday night's game. He originally strained his quad in the season opener.

Our View:There did not seem to be a lot of concern regarding his injury last night, but this is the same injury that Marion Barber is dealing with. We'll wait to see what the MRI results are first, but don't be shocked to see Jones miss a game or two. Tashard Choice is the top option for the Cowboys if both Jones and Barber are unavailable next week at Denver.
September 28, 2009
Felix Jones strained his left knee during tonight's game against Carolina.

Our View:His return is questionable. Tashard Choice is now the Cowboys' No. 1 running back, as Marion Barber is inactive due to his quad injury.
September 25, 2009
ESPN's Matt Mosley says Felix Jones will be in line for 20 or so carries this Monday against the Panthers if Marion Barber (quad) is unable to go.

Our View:It has already been reported that Jones would get more than the seven carries he had in Week 2 even if Barber were to play, so 20 in his absence sounds about right. The Panthers have allowed an astronomical 168 rushing yards per game so far in 2009, so he could have a very productive night.
September 24, 2009
Felix Jones is in line to get more carries this Sunday than the seven he had in Week 2, even if regular feature back Marion Barber (quad) is able to go, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:He reeled off 96 yards on those measly seven carries, so more touches will almost certainly be the case when Dallas hosts Carolina.
September 20, 2009
Felix Jones only had seven carries on Sunday against the Giants, but he rattled off 96 yards and a touchdown. He also had six kick returns for 134 yards and a fumble.

Our View:Perhaps more importantly, Marion Barber appeared to have injured his thigh on his last run of the game. Jones is a fine flex play most weeks, but if Barber is unable to go, Jones will be a must play.
September 20, 2009
The NFL Network confirmed that Felix Jones will play in tonight's showdown with the Giants.

Our View:Jones was dealing with a thigh ailment, but looks to be a nice flex play against a Giants' defense that will be without defensive lineman Chris Canty and cornerback Aaron Ross.
September 17, 2009
Felix Jones (quad/thigh) was not limited in practice on Thursday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:He is good-to-go for the first ever regular season game at Cowboys Stadium. With the energy likely to be incredibly high, the elusive Jones is that much more likely to reel off a big play. Don't forget that he is still just a change of pace back for Marion Barber, however.
September 15, 2009
Felix Jones will be limited in practice this week as he deals with a bruised quad, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Well that didn't take long. Jones played in just six games as a rookie last season because of injury, and despite his tremendous upside, doesn't have much fantasy value until he proves he can stay healthy.
September 14, 2009
Felix Jones is dealing with a thigh bruise sustained during Sunday's game at Tampa Bay, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:That explains why Jones only had two carries for zero yards in the second half, and was replaced by Miles Austin on a kickoff return. Head coach Wade Phillips is uncertain if Jones will be able to practice Wednesday.
September 3, 2009
The Dallas Morning News reports that Felix Jones could see more red zone carries this season.

Our View:Noted for his big play capability, Jones has been impressive when running between the tackles this preseason, as well, and will surely improve on his three touchdown total from his rookie season last year.
August 21, 2009
Felix Jones amassed 17 yards and a touchdown on five carries in Dallas' 30-10 preseason winner over the Titans Friday.

Our View:Jones also caught two passes for 47 yards, including a 42-yard haul. He showed he can still make the big play after suffering a season-ending injury last year. He can make a fantasy impact, but will split carries with Marion Barber.
August 10, 2009
Felix Jones missed Monday's morning practice to rest his injured toe, according to the Sporting News.

Our View:That is the same toe that spoiled his rookie campaign in 2008, so the Cowboys held him out as a precaution. He expects to return to practice later today.
July 17, 2009
According to the official website of the Dallas Cowboys, the team may be planning on using running back Felix Jones on kickoff return duties. The team would like to get Jones in the open field, and kickoff returns may be the best way to do that.

Our View:Jones is expected to get the ball in his hands quite a bit this season, and he is dynamic enough that it could work nicely. Jones should have some nice fantasy impact this season, espcially if he returns kicks.
July 3, 2009
According to Profootballweekly.com, the Cowboys are thinking of using Felix Jones and Marion Barber on the field at the same time next season.

Our View:The Cowboys talked about doing this last season as well, but it never came to fruition. Jones is explosive and extremely fast though, and if he splits out wide it could be a very dangerous combination on offense. We'll wait and see if Dallas puts their money where their mouth is.
June 15, 2009
Felix Jones is sitting out Monday's afternoon practice with the Cowboys while nursing a calf contusion, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:The severity of his ailment was not disclosed, and it is uncertain when he will return to practice. Jones was limited to only six games in 2008 as a rookie due to various injuries.
June 4, 2009
Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones expects Felix Jones to handle a larger workload in his second pro campaign in 2009, according to the Cowboys' official team website.

Our View:Jones averaged 8.9 yards per rushing attempt as a rookie in 2008, and has recovered well from toe surgery. He also battled a hamstring ailment, and should make a bigger impact this season if he can just stay healthy. He is an essential handcuff for Marion Barber in fantasy leagues.
May 19, 2009
Felix Jones is anxious to start working out with the Cowboys while coming off turf toe surgery than limited his rookie campaign to only six games, according to the Dallas Morning News. Jones said, "The vets look at me as a rookie still, but I still have something to prove every time I step on the field. I just cannot wait to get on the field with the same intensity I had when I came in as a rookie. I have it even more now." He also missed time with a pulled hamstring last season.

Our View:Jones noted that his burst has returned, and his body is responding exactly the way he wants it to. Jones impressively averaged 8.9 yards over 30 rushing attempts in 2008, and should make a bigger splash in the fantasy world this season if healthy. He is a must-have handcuff if you have Marion Barber on your roster.
April 11, 2009
Felix Jones has been running and cutting normally at Valley Ranch, suggesting that he is fully recovered from turf toe surgery, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Jones is expected to have an expanded role in 2009, but he needs to be healthy first, and it appears he is.
