The Bills officially announced Chan Gailey as their head coach at a press conference broadcast on the team's official site on Tuesday afternoon.

Our View:The Bills were apparently drawn to Gailey's strong track record of getting into the playoffs despite mediocre talent at the quarterback position (Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart and Jay Fiedler), a dilemma he'll likely face in Buffalo given their current quarterback situation, unless of course the Bills make a big offseason deal. Right now, this offense's strength lies at the running back position, and you can expect Gailey to utilize Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch to their fullest extent.

The Bills are expected to hire Chan Gailey as their next head coach, with an announcement possibly coming as early as today, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:The Bills had been courting Bill Cowher, though he apparently wants at least one more year off and gave Gailey high praise, who has a strong record of getting his teams to the playoffs. The Bills were also reportedly interested in Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier and Jets offensive coordinator Brian Shottenheimer but may have grown tired of waiting out their availability.

Fred Jackson lugged the rock 33 times for 212 yards in the Week 17 victory over Indianapolis. He also chipped in two receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown.

Our View:Jackson went over 1000-yards rushing for the first time in his career, and it will be interesting to see how the Bills divvy up the running back workload in 2010. For the record, Marshawn Lynch posted one carry for zero yards and one catch for two yards on the day.

Fred Jackson, who stands at 811 rushing yards this season, will be making a conscious effort to reach 1,000 yards this season, according to the Bills' official site. "It would be a good way to finish the season," Jackson said. "With us not being able to go to the playoffs that's definitely something that's in striking distance."

Our View:The offensive lineman also seem up for the challenge. "If we can get him to 1,000 that would be great," guard Adam Levitre said of Jackson. "That's something we can look forward to working toward these last two games." With Buffalo's two remaining games coming against Atlanta and a Colts team expected to rest its starters, Jackson's goal seems within reach, and he could make for a decent fantasy play these final two weeks.

Fred Jackson was a standout for Buffalo in Sunday's 17-10 loss to New England at Ralph Wilson Stadium, as he gained 80 rushing yards on 15 carries. He also caught five passes for 32 receiving yards.

Our View:Jackson failed to reach the endzone, but fantasy owners cannot complain about 112 total yards rushing and receiving against a savvy defense. He will have a more favorable match-up in Week 16 at Atlanta.
