Gaines Adams will make his Chicago Bears debut on Sunday, according to ESPN.

Our View:The former Buc is unsure of how much playing time he might receive. In five games before being traded this season, he accrued one sack and ten tackles.

Newest Bear Gaines Adams will be inactive for the team's game against the Falcons on Sunday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Adams had ten tackles and one sack in five games for the Bucs this season. His addition may slightly improve the Bears' run-defense.

Gaines Adams has been dealt from Tampa Bay to Chicago in exchange for a 2010 draft pick (believed to be a second-rounder), according to Adam Schefter's twitter page.

Our View:Adams failed to impress the Buccaneers as a former high first-round pick, but still has loads of potential, and could benefit from a fresh start in Chicago.

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that Bucs' defensive end Gaines Adams is out again Friday after suffering an ankle injury on Wednesday. The injury is being classified as a sprain, and his status for this weekend is unknown.

Our View:This guy just can't catch a break. He missed practice time last week with a groin injury, and now it is the ankle. On the bright side, he came out and had his best performance of the season last week, so maybe it will happen again on Sunday. We will keep you updated on his status.

Updating an earlier report, Gaines Adams has been deemed fit to play in today's game at Washington, according to FOX Sports.

Our View:Adams is dealing with a groin ailment. Stylez White will start in his place at defensive end, and Adams is not a suitable fantasy option for IDP leagues.

Gaines Adams will be a game-time call for today's battle at Washington, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Adams is dealing with a groin injury, and is off to a poor start this season - meaning fantasy owners should go with a more suitable option today if possible.

Gaines Adams missed practice again on Thursday while dealing with a groin injury, according to the Twitter page of Bucs' beat writer Rick Stroud. Adams' status for the weekend is unknown at this point.

Our View:Adams' status for the weekend will become more clear after tomorrow's practice, but it's not looking good right now. Stylez White would start in his place if he can't go, but we will keep you updated.

Dealing with a groin injury, Gaines Adams was unable to practice on Wednesday, according to the Pewter Report.

Our View:The team is unsure of the severity of the injury at this point. Adams, who has recorded zero sacks in the first three games of the season, was already in danger of being benched. This can't help matters.
September 21, 2009
The Buccaneers are reportedly mulling over benching Gaines Adams after the former first-round pick failed to register a sack over the first two games in 2009, according to the Pewter Report.

Our View:Apparently Adams is not benefiting from defensive coordinator Jim Bates' system. He is a tremendous athlete, but is yet to tap his potential as a pass rusher. He is not a good fantasy option against the Giants for Week 3.

New head coach Raheem Morris has high expectations for defensive end Gaines Adams, who is entering his third season. "Double-digit sacks," Morris tells the St. Petersburg Times. "That's what he's graded on, there's no secret about it. I've got no problem telling him, 'Hey Gaines, if you don't do it this year, you're going to be considered a bust.'"

Our View:Morris isn't pulling any punches. IDP owners are expecting big things out of Adams in 2009, and his coaches clearly agree. We know the talent is there.

The Buccaneers have signed several undrafted free agents, according to ProFootballTalk.com. The signees are: defensive end Jarrett Buie, receiver Pat Carter, offensive lineman Marc Dile, tackle Demar Dotson, running back Kareem Huggins, receiver Amarri Jackson, and cornerback Evan McCullough.

Our View:All of these players are serious longshots to make the team out of training camp.
March 24, 2009
The Buccaneers intend to move around Gaines Adams more in an attempt to boost his sack potential as a pass rusher, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:Adams has the skills to develop into an elite defensive end, and it sounds like he could break out in his third pro campaign in 2009. He could rank as a top sleeper for IDP leagues.
February 5, 2009
Tampa Bay have hired Robert Nunn as their defensive line coach, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:Tampa Bay also hired Joe Baker as secondary coach and former Super Bowl hero Doug Williams as coordinator of pro scouting. The Buccaneers' staff is in re-building mode after the firing of Jon Gruden as the team looks to rebound in 2009 after an awful finish to the 2008 season.
