Newsbreakers
November 8, 2009
Kevin Boss caught just two passes for 17 yards in Week 9, but one of them went for an eight-yard touchdown.

Our View:Boss has now recorded TDs in the last two games, and his value is on the rise. Still, there is no telling if this is a brief love affair between him and Eli Manning or if it will continue throughout the season. So far his poor output weeks outnumber his good ones, so it may be best to wait and see if his recent surge is legit before inserting him into your starting lineup.

Kevin Boss has been limited in practice while nursing his ankle ailment, but is probable for Sunday's home game against San Diego, according to the Giants' official website.

Our View:Boss should be ready to go, and could have a good outing for fantasy owners - as the Chargers' defense has given up four touchdowns to tight ends over seven games.
November 5, 2009
Giants tight end Kevin Boss was limited in practice on Thursday due to an ankle injury.

Our View:Boss is a tough cookie, so expect him to take the field against the Chargers on Sunday. He's a good play this week as he has a very favorable matchup against a San Diego defense that has been exploited by tight ends this season.
November 4, 2009
Ralph Vacchiano reports via Twitter that Kevin Boss will practice on Wednesday despite his ankle injury.

Our View:Boss is as tough as they come, and it doesn't seem that his injury will keep him from missing any time. Expect him to play on Sunday against a Chargers defense that has been shredded by tight ends this season.
November 3, 2009
Kevin Boss noted that his right ankle is still tender after aggravating the ailment in Sunday's loss at Philadelphia, according to the Star-Ledger.

Our View:Boss should be a good bet to play in Week 9 against San Diego, who are ranked sixth in pass defense.
November 1, 2009
Kevin Boss had three catches for 70 yards and one touchdown in the Week 8 loss to Philadelphia.

Our View:We are going to file this one in the "even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile" folder. The touchdown was the first since Week 16 of 2008 for Boss, who has posted three or fewer receptions in seven of eight games this season.
October 26, 2009
According to the Twitter page of Giants' beat writer Mike Garafolo, tight end Kevin Boss did not suffer a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. Boss was reportedly just dealing with general soreness after the game.

Our View:It was widely believed that the tight end had suffered a concussion, but it looks like the injury was not as bad as the team originally feared. This shouldn't keep him from playing this week, but we should know more later in the week.
October 15, 2009
According to Mike Garafolo on Twitter, Kevin Boss practiced in full on Thursday.

Our View:All signs now point to Boss playing on Sunday. As long as Eli is healthy he should be a decent option at tight end. Beware of a Saints defense though that has been tough on tight ends this season.

Kevin Boss (ankle) said he felt good after practice on Wednesday, and is optimistic about playing against New Orleans this Sunday, according to the New York Daily News.

Our View:He should have some extra motivation on Sunday, as well, as he will be going up against the man he replaced at tight end, Jeremy Shockey. With the way Eli Manning has been throwing the ball lately, Boss is a good option when healthy.
October 9, 2009
Giants' beat writer Ralph Vacchiano is reporting on Twitter that tight end Kevin Boss missed practice on Friday with his ankle injury. Boss has not practiced this week due to the injury.

Our View:This is not a good sign for the Giants and for Boss owners. If the Giants weren't optimistic about his chances of playing before, they definitely aren't now. If Boss is your starter, it might be time to get someone else ready, but we will continue to monitor his status.
October 8, 2009
The Giants' official website is reporting that tight end Kevin Boss missed practice for the second consecutive day on Thursday. Boss is dealing with a sprained ankle and is looking doubtful for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Our View:The Giants have said all week that they aren't optimistic about his chances to play this weekend, and missing again today hurts his chances even more. Boss owners should have a backup plan ready for Sunday's game, but continue to check back up until game-time for an update on his status.
October 7, 2009
According to Mike Garafolo on Twitter, the Giants are not optimistic about tight end Kevin Boss playing in Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Our View:Boss has a sprained ankle and missed Wednesday's practice. He's doubtful to practice the rest of the week and the fact that the Giants aren't optimistic doesn't bode well for his chances. You may want to start looking for a replacement tight end for Week 5.
October 7, 2009
Kevin Boss (sprained ankle) is not practicing on Wednesday, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Our View:The injury is not considered overly serious, but you may want to add a reserve tight end for this weekend just in case, especially if he does not practice on Thursday or Friday.
October 5, 2009
Kevin Boss is dealing with a sprained ankle in the wake of New York's Week 4 win over the Chiefs, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.

Our View:Both he and the team have said the injury is not overly serious, but he was seen limping around team facilities on Monday, and he could be questionable for Week 5. So far in 2009, he has ten catches for 143 yards.
October 4, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Kevin Boss (knee) returned to action at the start of the second half at Kansas City, according to Mike Garafolo's (Star-Ledger) twitter page.

Our View:Boss appears to be OK after going down in the first half.
October 4, 2009
Kevin Boss suffered an apparent knee injury in today's game at Kansas City.

Our View:His return is uncertain. Boss is a key member of the Giants' offense at tight end, and they lack good depth behind him.
