According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Lynell Hamilton could be a good fit as the Saints short-yardage back next season.

Our View:Hamilton, at 6'0/235, is a big guy and he's just 24 years old so there is still plenty left in the tank. He dealt with ankle injuries last year and only averaged 3.6 YPC, but has shown some ability near the end zone. In any case, he's likely a better option than free agent LaDainian Tomlinson at this point.

Lynell Hamilton (ankle) leads the list of inactive Saints players for Super Bowl XLIV, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Joining him on the sidelines will be linebacker Anthony Waters, third quarterback Chase Daniel, guard Jamar Nesbit, tight ends Darnell Dinkins and Tory Humphrey, receiver Adrian Arrington and defensive end Paul Spicer.

Lynell Hamilton did not participate in Saturday's walkthrough, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Hamilton did not practice all week due to his injured ankle, and does not look to have good odds of being active for Super Bowl 44 versus the Colts.

According to NFL.com, Lynell Hamilton (ankle) did not practice once again on Friday and is listed as questionable for the Super Bowl.

Our View:Hamilton is the only player on the Saints roster who is questionable for the big game, and he and cornerback Randall Gay were the only two to be held out of practice. Hamilton hasn't practiced all week and his chances to play certainly aren't optimistic.

According to the Saints official website, Lynell Hamilton (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday and remains in a walking boot.

Our View:Hamilton was the only Saint that failed to practice, which is good news for the club, but bad news for him. He's currently doubtful to play in the Super Bowl, so expect to see Pierre Thomas or Mike Bell on the goal line more often.

According to NFL.com, running back Lynell Hamilton was held out of Friday's practice with an ankle injury.

Our View:The short-yardage back has been held out of practice all week and is unlikely to be used in the Super Bowl, which means Pierre Thomas could get more goal line looks.

Lynell Hamilton scored the lone touchdown for the Saints in their loss to the Panthers on Sunday. He rushed 10 times for 48 yards.

Our View:Hamilton has seen some spot duty this season, but he's too buried on the depth chart to make any significant impact in meaningful games.
