Texans head coach Gary Kubiak told the Score 1510 on Tuesday that Steve Slaton's neck injury required surgery. He underwent a procedure two weeks ago.

Our View:The team has not yet provided a timetable for his recovery. After a fumble-plagued sophomore season in 2009, Slaton is not expected to be in the running to be Houston's feature back next year.

Dale Robertson of the Houston Chronicle believes the Texans will draft another running back in 2010.

Our View:Steve Slaton has fallen out of favor this season due to his fumbling issues and 3.1 yards per carry. Arian Foster is still too unproven to be given lead-back duties in 2010, as well.
