October 21, 2009 According to the Washington Post, Coach Jim Zorn informed quarterback Todd Collins to "be ready" for Monday night's game against the Eagles. Our View:Zorn has already named Jason Campbell the starter, but he has clearly lost faith in the quarterback and you can bet that he'll be pulled at the first sign of ineffectiveness. Neither QB is a viable fantasy option, especially if they split time on Monday, and if the Redskins tank this one Zorn may have some packing to do. |

August 12, 2009 The Washington Times is reporting that veteran Todd Collins is expected to be the Redskins' backup quarterback this season, but he will get pushed hard by Colt Brennan. Collins helped the Skins reach the playoffs in relief of starter Jason Campbell in 2007, but only appeared in one game last season without attempting a pass. Our View:Collins is the safe and reliable choice here, but the Redskins love what they have seen out of Brennan this summer. He may not be ready to be an NFL quarterback right now, which is why he will be third-string behind Collins, but don't be shocked if Brennan plays over Collins later in the season if the Skins struggle. |

July 20, 2009 Todd Collins will remain the Redskins backup quarterback over Colt Brennan in 2009 as long as he stays "functional," according to The Washington Times. Our View:Brennan could still wrest it away with a big preseason, but Collins is apparently a safe bet to keep his job. |
