June 4, 2009 According to the Charlotte Observer, Jeff King will more than likely be the Panthers starting tight end this season. Our View:The Panthers ranked in the bottom half of the league in most major passing statistics in 2008, however, and with King being an unproven pass catching commodity, it would be unwise to draft him at this point. |

March 20, 2009 Scout.com reports that tight end Jeff King signed his restricted free agent tender to remain with the Panthers on Thursday. He will make $1.545 million this season. Our View:King is a fine tight end, but he is not of the pass-catching variety. He had just 21 catches and one touchdown in 16 games last season. |
