Brandon Marshall (neck) is probable for Sunday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall, coming off of two straight monster games, will play on Sunday against the Chargers.
November 19, 2009
Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall returned to practice on Thursday, according to the Twitter page of NFL writer Adam Caplan. Marshall missed Wednesday with a neck injury.

Our View:It looks like Marshall should be fine this week, and we were never really too worried about this injury. Fantasy owners should get him in the lineup, but it might not be a bad idea to check on him before kickoff just in case.
November 18, 2009
Brandon Marshall did not practice Wednesday while nursing a neck ailment, according to the Broncos' official website.

Our View:Marshall racked up 246 receiving yards and two touchdowns over his last two games, and the Chargers' secondary will have their hands full on Sunday, assuming his neck does not keep him out.
November 15, 2009
Brandon Marshall caught first-quarter touchdowns of 40 and 75 yards and finished with five receptions for 134 yards in the Week 10 loss to the Redskins.

Our View:That's two straight huge efforts for Marshall, but his owners have to be a little concerned about the quarterback situation. The Broncos' offense stalled completely after Kyle Orton hurt his ankle and turned over the keys to Chris Simms. Let's hope Orton heals quickly.
November 15, 2009
As expected, Brandon Marshall (back) is active and will start in Week 10 against the Redskins.

Our View:Marshall and the Broncos are facing a tough Redskins pass defense, but fantasy owners can feel free to use him.
November 13, 2009
Brandon Marshall (back) is probable for Week 10 against the Redskins, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He will play. He has a tough match-up going up against Washington's number one rated pass defense, however.
November 12, 2009
The Denver Post's Lindsay Jones tweets that Brandon Marshall was back in practice on Thursday. He missed Wednesday's practice due to a back ailment.

Our View:Marshall is a must play nearly every weekend. This Sunday he'll play the Redskins, who actually have a decent secondary. He had 11 catches against the Steelers last week and has four touchdowns through eight games.
November 11, 2009
Brandon Marshall did not practice Wednesday while nursing a back ailment, according to the Broncos' official website.

Our View:Marshall should be able to play Sunday at Washington if he can practice through the rest of the week without an issue. He would challenge the Redskins' No. 1 ranked pass defense.
November 9, 2009
Brandon Marshall had a big receiving night despite not getting into the end zone as the Broncos fell to the Steelers 28-10. Marshall caught 11 passes for 112 yards in the game.

Our View:Marshall had a great fantasy night for PPR owners, but getting in the end zone would have really solidified his performance. It was his first 100 yard game of the season, and if he is good enough to do ths against the Steelers, he can do it against anyone. His problems are in the past, and he should be a very good fantasy player in the second half.
November 1, 2009
Brandon Marshall was shut down by the Ravens in today's 30-7 loss at M&T Bank Stadium, as he only caught four passes for 24 yards.

Our View:Marshall is yet to reach 100 receiving yards in a game, and today's 24 yards marked a season-low. The schedule will not get easier in Week 9, when Denver hosts Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football.
November 1, 2009
The Broncos have decided to rescind fines dealt to Brandon Marshall, and intend to give the star receiver his money back, according to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

Our View:This is a good sign that Marshall and the Broncos are back on good terms. His fines totaled $73,000 and were related to his suspension for detrimental conduct.
October 15, 2009
Head coach Josh McDaniels commented on star receiver Brandon Marshall, according to the Denver Post. McDaniels said, "Without going back into the past, Brandon and I have never really had much of an issue with one another. I do not know when it clicked, but I am happy it is clicking and he is too, and our team is all the better for it."

Our View:Marshall is back on good terms with Denver, and has racked up 222 receiving yards and four touchdowns over his last three games. Expect him to perform well in Monday night's AFC West showdown at San Diego.
October 14, 2009
Broncos owner Pat Bowlen hinted at Tuesday that formerly disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Marshall could be in for a "significant raise" if he continues to play as well as he has for the past few weeks, according to NFL.com.

Our View:What a difference one or two months can make. It was not that long ago that Marshall was punting balls away from the ball boys at Broncos practice. Now, he's catching footballs and scoring touchdowns for a 5-0 Denver team. Expect him to be locked up long-term shortly.
October 11, 2009
Brandon Marshall caught eight passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 20-17 win over the Patriots at Invesco Field.

Our View:Marshall has reached the endzone in three straight games. He is averaging 74 receiving yards over that span, and is clicking fine with new quarterback Kyle Orton.
October 4, 2009
Brandon Marshall reeled in four balls for 91 yards on Sunday. More importantly, however, he also scored a touchdown for the second straight week.

Our View:Maybe he's finally out of the organization's doghouse and free to start posting world-beating numbers again. Don't call it a comeback until he does it a few weeks in a row, however.
September 29, 2009
The Colorado Springs Gazette says that Brandon Marshall is once again the standard option in the Broncos passing game.

Our View:Marshall and quarterback Kyle Orton missed a lot of time to get used to each other in the preseason because of Marshall's antics. However, they sound as if they are getting in rhythm with each other and Marshall could go on a tear.
September 27, 2009
Brandon Marshall caught five passes for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 win over the Raiders.

Our View:Just think of what Marshall might produce when he learns the offense. The Broncos passing attack under Josh McDaniels remains a work in progress, but fantasy owners who've been holding Marshall have to feel good about this line.
September 24, 2009
Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall returned to full practice on Thursday after leaving Wednesday with an illness, according to the team's official website. Marshall will play in the team's Week 3 contest.

Our View:The illness wasn't anything serious, and Marshall was fine at practice today. His fantasy value has obviously been hurt by his troubled offseason, but the more he is on the field, the better chance he has to return to form this season.
September 23, 2009
Contrary to a previous report, the Denver Post is suggesting that former Broncos' head coach Mike Shanahan never intended on cutting troubled wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Marshall has struggled in two games this season after his eventful offseason.

Our View:It was hard to believe when the report came out that Shanahan was actually thinking about cutting Marshall, so this report makes more sense. This guy may have some problems, be he hadn't really done anything that would warrant getting cut during Shanahan's era. During Josh McDaniels's era, now that's a different story.
September 21, 2009
Brandon Marshall caught only three balls for 34 yards in the Broncos win over the Browns on Sunday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He also sat out the entire second quarter (not believed to be injury or "doghouse" related), and committed a holding penalty. With only seven catches and 61 receiving yards through two games, it does not look like he will come anywhere near posting his third straight 100-reception, 1,200 yard campaign in 2009.
September 17, 2009
Brandon Marshall apparently made a spectacle of himself at the Broncos' weekly media session on Thursday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall "deflected, or flat-out ignored" most questions asked of him in a session that lasted just one minute and 40 seconds. He has made it well-known this year that he does not want to talk to the media, so today's display was probably solely so he would not get fined for not making himself available. He's a solid start this week at home against the Browns' run-of-the-mill pass defense.
September 17, 2009
Despite some perceived concerns about his hip, Brandon Marshall says he was 100 percent a long time ago according to a tweet by Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall should be a fine play this weekend against the Browns. He showed some rust in Week 1 with a few drops, but a week of work with his new quarterback should bring about good things.
September 13, 2009
Former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan was prepared to release Brandon Marshall after the Pro Bowl, ESPN.com reports. Shanahan shared his thoughts with Jay Cutler one day before the Broncos fired the head coach. A source says that Shanahan thought Marshall cost the team more than he gave them.

Our View:The Broncos can't go back in time, so this news is only interesting as gossip talk. The team ultimately kept Marshall and dumped both Shanahan and Cutler. Those decisions have looked misguided this summer, but time will tell if ownership made the right calls.
September 9, 2009
Brandon Marshall and the Broncos are reportedly discussing the possibility of inking him to a contract extension, according to ESPN.

Our View:A new deal could make Marshall one of the top paid receivers in the NFL, and put him back on good terms with the Broncos. His fantasy stock looks to be back on the rise.
September 8, 2009
Brandon Marshall returned to practice with the Broncos Tuesday, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. His suspension for conduct detrimental to the team has been lifted.

Our View:Marshall has been hindered by a hip injury and missed the preseason while bickering with the team, so it is uncertain what role he will hold in Week 1 at Cincinnati - making him a risky fantasy option.
September 8, 2009
According to ESPN.com, sources within the Jets organization believe the team's interest in Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall has waned over the last few days. The sources don't believe a trade will get done between the two sides.

Our View:We've been hearing a ton of different things about Marshall to the Jets, but it is starting to sound like he will be staying in Denver. This thing is far from over, but as always we will keep you updated on any news regarding Marshall.
September 7, 2009
The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos still do not intend to trade wide receiver Brandon Marshall despite rumors that the team may be in talks with the Jets. Marshall returned to practice on Sunday.

Our View:Rumors have been flying that the Jets and the Broncos were working out a deal for Marshall, but the team source insists that Marshall will be a Bronco this season. He promises to be more of a distraction than an asset if he remains with the team, and the sub-par quarterback play should only hurt his attitude more.
September 6, 2009
Brandon Marshall's team implemented suspension will likely be lifted soon, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He will likely be re-added to the active roster on Monday.
September 2, 2009
An undisclosed source close to the situation stated that it is highly unlikely that the Broncos will deal receiver Brandon Marshall to the Jets, according to Newsday.

Our View:The Broncos would want young linebacker David Harris in a trade involving Marshall, and likely high draft picks as well - which would be a high price for the Jets to pay.
September 2, 2009
Newsday reports that the New York Jets are "seriously exploring" trading for mercurial Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Our View:Marshall is currently suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team" in Denver, while it has long been assumed the Jets would like an upgrade at receiver over Jerricho Cotchery and Chansi Stuckey. Marshall has surpassed both 100 receptions and 1,200 receiving yards the past two seasons, and would certainly represent the upgrade New York is looking for. Don't expect this to be the last Marshall rumor you hear in the coming days.
September 1, 2009
The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos have placed troubled wide receiver Brandon Marshall on the reserve/suspended list. Marshall isn't expected to return to the team until September 6 at the earliest.

Our View:The Marshall situation has gone quiet as of late, but rumors have circulated that the Broncos are entertaining trade offers for him. If he stays in Denver, he will have to improve his attitude or he may remain suspended for the early part of the season.
August 31, 2009
The Broncos have reportedly discussed trading Brandon Marshall with multiple undisclosed NFL teams, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Head coach Josh McDaniels stated that the Broncos won't be trading the star receiver, so chalk this news up as a rumor for now. He may be harder to move while coming off hip surgery.
August 28, 2009
According to TheDenverChannel.com, disgruntled Broncos' receiver Brandon Marshall was not at practice on Friday after taking heat for his antics at practice on Thursday. Coach Josh McDaniels refused to comment on Marshall after practice was over.

Our View:The Marshall saga has come to a head in Denver, and now that he has been suspended by the team for the rest of the preseason it seems very possible that his next NFL reception could be for a different squad. It is getting to a point where it will be nearly impossible for Marshall to suit up for the Broncs, so watch for a trade in the coming weeks.
August 28, 2009
Updating a previous report, Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting on his Twitter page that the suspension to Brandon Marshall lasts through September 6 and he is eligible to return to the team September 7.

Our View:As Schefter says in his post, Marshall got off easy here. The team doesn't open the season until the following week, so he could play in the team's season opener if he is not traded. Forcing him to miss a few preseason games isn't much of a punishment.
August 28, 2009
ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Broncos have suspended wide receiver Brandon Marshall for conduct detrimental to the team. Under the collective bargaining agreement, the team can only suspend Marshall for a maximum of four games.

Our View:It sounds like the Broncos have finally had enough of Marshall, and this could signal that he is on his way out. At this point, the Broncos have put themselves in a bad position to get a big return for Marshall, so it seems likely that they will have to move him for less than he is worth. We will keep you updated on the ongoing Brandon Marshall saga.
August 27, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Brandon Marshall is unlikely to make his preseason debut in Sunday's game against the Bears after missing Thursday's practice, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Head coach John McDaniels remains mum on exactly why Marshall was unable to practice. Marshall looks to be a high-risk, high-reward fantasy pick for 2009. Try to get him as a No. 3 receiver if possible.
August 27, 2009
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Brandon Marshall was not present at the start of the team's practice Thursday.

Our View:No reason as to why Marshall didn't show. His displeasure with the organization is well documented, so he may simply have just decided to not show up. We wouldn't put it past him. Coach Josh McDaniels wouldn't say one way or the other if Marshall would play in Sunday's preseason game.
August 26, 2009
According to a report from the Denver Post, the Broncos would be willing to trade wide receiver Brandon Marshall if a team offered them a first and a fourth-round pick. Marshall is coming off hip surgery, and it seems unlikely that a team would offer that for a troubled receiver who may not be 100 percent.

Our View:It looks like the Broncos know that there is very little chance that they will be able to move Marshall, so they are going to go forward with him in the fold. If Marshall shows he is completely healthy he could spark some interest, but it looks like he will be a Bronco for the 2009 season.
August 25, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Brandon Marshall fully practiced with the Broncos Tuesday, according to KFVS-12 News. Head coach Josh McDaniels said, "He did everything that we were doing there, he did our drills. We did not get to finish practice obviously, but it was a nice crisp practice today."

Our View:This is encouraging, but McDaniels did not speculate if Marshall will play in the Broncos' next preseason game against Chicago. His fantasy stock looks to be back on the rise, especially if he has at least one solid performance in the preseason.
August 25, 2009
Brandon Marshall is listed as a starting receiver on the Broncos' latest depth chart, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Our View:Marshall is yet to play in the preseason, and head coach Josh McDaniels it yet to decide if he will play in the next one Sunday. At least Marshall isn't working with the scout team anymore.
August 22, 2009
Brandon Marshall did not make the trip with the team to Seattle for their Saturday night preseason game, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall is healthy, but in the club's doghouse after making another trade request last week. He has been taking reps all week on the scout team, and they could actually be getting ready to trade him. Stay tuned.
August 20, 2009
Newsday's Bob Glauber believes Brandon Marshall will be suspended by the Broncos for conduct detrimental to the team, as reported via his Twitter account.

Our View:Glauber says that the situation reminds him of T.O.'s second year in Philadelphia. If that's the case, Marshall and the Broncos could be in for a rude awakening. If he does get suspended, his fantasy value will take yet another monster hit.
August 20, 2009
The Denver Post reports that receiver Brandon Marshall has been practicing with the scout-team offense and isn't getting reps with the starters.

Our View:Marshall's fantasy status as a number one receiver could be in serious jeopardy. Marshall isn't even close to knowing the team's offensive playbook and won't get a serious look in preseason until he learns it. The staff values the system more than individual talent, so, talented as he is, Marshall is no help to the team until he learns the system. He's also still whining about a trade.
August 19, 2009
Brandon Marshall participated in both practices with the Broncos Wednesday, according to Lindsay Jones' (Denver Post) twitter page.

Our View:This marks Marshall's first two-a-day of training camp. This is encouraging, but the disgruntled receiver still does not have comprehension of the Broncos' new playbook, and is reportedly working with the scout team.
August 19, 2009
Pro Football Talk reports that the New York Jets may have some interest in trading for embattled receiver Brandon Marshall.

Our View:Now that Marshall has been cleared of the felonies he was potentially going to jail for, expect trade talks to actually heat up. The Jets have few receiving options beyond Chansi Stuckey and Jerricho Cotchery, and rookie Mark Sanchez needs all the reliable targets he can get.
August 18, 2009
Brandon Marshall practiced with the Broncos Tuesday after reiterating yesterday to head coach Josh McDaniels that he either wants a new deal or be traded, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:The Broncos do not intend to offer him a new deal at this time, but it looks like Marshall won't be a holdout. The star receiver would be fined $15,888 per day if he held out.
August 17, 2009
Brandon Marshall and his agent (Kennard McGuire) reportedly met with Broncos' head coach Josh McDaniels Monday, according to Adam Schefter's twitter page. Marshall reiterated that he still covets a new deal or wants to be traded.

Our View:Marshall did not practice Monday, and a holdout could potentially be coming. Marshall should be targeted with caution in fantasy leagues right now.
August 17, 2009
Brandon Marshall is sitting out the Broncos' evening practice, according to Lindsay Jones' twitter page. He is resting his surgically-repaired hip.

Our View:Marshall is expected to make his preseason debut Saturday. He should have enough time to gel with new quarterback Kyle Orton before the Broncos' Week 1 battle at Cincinnati.
August 16, 2009
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Brandon Marshall stated that he missed two weeks of practice this offseason due to a hamstring issue.

Our View:This is good news for the Broncos, as it was thought that Marshall's surgically repaired hip was acting up. Now it appears that neither injury is an issue and he should be fine moving forward. He is expected to play in Saturday's preseason game.
August 16, 2009
The Denver Post reports that Brandon Marshall returned to practice on Sunday.

Our View:Marshall missed two weeks after trying to come back to soon from offseason hip surgery, but he's back in camp and should get some much needed time with new quarterback Kyle Orton. Keep an eye on Marshall though as his health concerns linger.
August 15, 2009
Embattled receiver Brandon Marshall could return to Broncos camp as early as Sunday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:The leg injury he suffered two weeks ago is apparently almost healed. Let's hope that after being given one final chance Marshall finally gets it.
August 14, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Brandon Marshall commented after being acquitted of two misdemeanor battery charges Friday, according to the Denver Post. Marshall said, "It has been almost over a year and a half and I am just happy that now, legally and emotionally we can move forward and hopefully get past thing. For me, I am excited about the opportunity just to start over. It is a new life almost."

Our View:Marshall added that he will be returning to Denver soon, and is feeling good physically. The elite receiver has not practiced since August 2, and can now focus on football again.
August 14, 2009
According to the Denver Post, a jury has declared Brandon Marshall not guilty of misdemeanor battery.

Our View:Marshall not only avoids the clink, he won't face a disciplinary sentence from the commissioner either. His legal troubles are officially behind him and he can now concentrate on football... assuming he still wants to. He still has injury concerns (hip, leg), but once healthy he will return to being the Broncos' top wideout. The good news helps not only Marshall's fantasy value, but QB Kyle Orton's as well.
August 14, 2009
According to the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall's misdemeanor batter trial has ended. The jury is currently deliberating over a verdict.

Our View:Marshall's fate lies in the jury's hands. If he is found guilty, he'll likely face not only the court's punishment, but also an additional one from Commissioner Roger Goodell. If he is exonerated he's less likely to have a "chat" with the Commish. We'll keep you posted on the verdict.
August 11, 2009
Brandon Marshall (leg/hip surgery) missed another day of practice in camp Tuesday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:The Broncos did not speculate when Marshall may return to the practice field. He is listed as a second-string receiver on Denver's latest depth chart, and is missing valuable time to gel with new quarterback Kyle Orton and head coach Josh McDaniels' offense.
August 10, 2009
The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos have released their first depth chart of the season, and that star wide receiver Brandon Marshall is listed on the second team. Marshall is listed behind fellow wideouts Eddie Royal, Brandon Stokley, and Jabar Gaffney.

Our View:This could be a statement by the Broncos that Marshall needs to start practicing and stop whining, or it could just be because Marshall has been hurt and hasn't participated much. Either way, Marshall needs to get on the field if he is going to develop a rapport with new quarterback Kyle Orton.
August 9, 2009
Brandon Marshall missed another day of camp Sunday, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He has not practiced in a full week, and the Broncos are yet to update his status regarding his leg injury and recovery from hip surgery. It is uncertain when the elite receiver may return to the field.
August 7, 2009
Brandon Marshall sat out Friday's practice, according to Lindsay Jones' (of the Denver Post) twitter page. He is nursing a leg injury believed to be related to his offseason hip surgery.

Our View:Marshall is an elite receiver and will not be pushed for the No. 1 role in Denver, but is missing important practice time to gel with new quarterback Kyle Orton. He needs some work to get familiar with new head coach Josh McDaniels' offense as well.
August 6, 2009
The Denver Post reports that it is becoming more and more unlikely that oft-maligned wider receiver Brandon Marshall will miss the Broncos first preseason game.

Our View:Marshall has already missed the past six training camp workouts with a "leg" injury that is thought to be related to his offseason hip surgery. The opener is August 14th in San Francisco. Stay tuned as Marshall is sure to provided additional drama.
August 5, 2009
Brandon Marshall sat out Wednesday's morning practice to rest, according to the Denver Post. He is dealing with soreness from off-season hip surgery.

Our View:Marshall is an elite receiver, and should not need much practice time to get into rhythm with new quarterback Kyle Orton and head coach Josh McDaniels' offense.
August 3, 2009
The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Ravens no longer have interest in trading for disgruntled Broncos' receiver Brandon Marshall. One Ravens' source was quoted as saying "Our interest in Brandon Marshall is between slim and none, and slim just walked out on the field," referring to the newly unretired Derek Mason.

Our View:It makes sense that the Ravens wouldn't be interested now that Mason is back with the team, and it was probably a long shot that they would pursue Marshall anyway. It is starting to look like Marshall will be a Bronco this season, so he better mend some fences with the new coaching staff and new quarterback Kyle Orton if he is going to stay on par as a top-flight wide receiver option in this league.
August 2, 2009
Brandon Marshall limped off Denver's practice field on Sunday morning while favoring his surgically-repaired hip, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:The hip surgery that Marshall underwent normally takes six months to a full year for complete recovery, and Marshall had the surgery performed on March 31, meaning even an optimistic return to full strength wouldn't be until the end of September. Marshall had looked good and healthy prior to today, so just be sure to be up to date on his health status before you consider drafting him.
July 31, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Brandon Marshall turned heads during Friday's practice with the Broncos, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:This is encouraging news as the elite receiver is coming off March hip surgery. He notably practiced without a limp, and new head coach Josh McDaniels is excited about watching Marshall fit his system and make plays. As of now, it seems unlikely that he will be traded.
July 31, 2009
According to the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall returned to practice on Friday.

Our View:Marshall has been dealing with a sore hip (as a result of his surgery) and missed the previous two practices. However, he is still on track to start the season in game shape.
July 29, 2009
Yahoo! Sports reports that NFL sources say the Ravens may revisit talks with the Broncos regarding wide receiver Brandon Marshall. The Ravens have declined comment.

Our View:The Ravens have lost both Derrick Mason and Drew Bennett to retirement this season, so they could desperately use a receiver. Marshall would provide them with a true workhorse who is certainly capable of being a Top 10 receiver if not a Top 5.
July 28, 2009
Wayward receiver Brandon Marshall skipped a "light" workout Tuesday morning with lingering soreness from Monday's practice, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall had hip surgery on March 31. There have been no indications he plans to cause any problems for the Broncos in camp, but there have also been no indications that he's no longer angry about his contract.
July 27, 2009
Brandon Marshall reported to Denver's training camp on Monday, according to the Denver Post. When asked why he showed up amidst his displeasure with his current contract, Marshall replied, "$15,000. I mean, it's got to stop eventually. I definitely didn't want to get that fine, so I'm here."

Our View:It's good to see Marshall present at Denver's camp, although with the clear displeasure under his current contract, along with his upcoming trial on August 13 to face two charges of misdemeanor domestic battery, the star receiver is clouded with various uncertainties regarding where exactly he'll play, and when he'll be eligible to, in 2009. For now, he remains with the Broncos and is not set to face any suspension from the league, although both of those statements could change as we progress toward the season.
July 20, 2009
Brandon Marshall's court case to face two charges of misdemeanor domestic battery will begin on August 13 in Atlanta, Georgia, according to CompleteColorado.com.

Our View:The Broncos have a preseason game at San Francisco the day after on August 14, so one would have to assume that Marshall will not be present, although he may not have played in the game regardless. It remains to be seen whether the NFL will discipline Marshall with a suspension, although his character issues, and the fact that he's already on a short leash after receiving a one-game suspension last year, add risk to him as a fantasy commodity.
July 16, 2009
Brandon Marshall deemed himself fit to resume football-related activities after doing a 360 dunk and a windmill dunk earlier in the week, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette. He has been recovering from hip surgery.

Our View:While Marshall voiced his desire to be traded earlier in the offseason, he did comment that Kyle Orton is a great quarterback and that the players are taking well to Josh McDaniels' offense. He did not indicate whether or not he will attend training camp with Denver however.
July 15, 2009
According to the Denver Post, the Broncos have informed troubled receiver Brandon Marshall that he needs to report to camp with the rookies on July 27th, due to his offseason hip surgery.

Our View:This is not a special exception for Marshall. It's standard procedure for any injured player. Still, with Marshall's temper and ego, he could take exception to this and is a legitimate threat to hold out by not reporting on time.
July 13, 2009
Brandon Marshall suggested that he won't be a holdout when training camp opens, according to Yahoo! Sports. Marshall said, "All I can do is get up every day and beat my body up, and that is the truth. At the end of the day, I am going to be playing football, and, if I am going to be out there, I got to be in the best shape I can be in."

Our View:Marshall previously mentioned that he would like to be traded by Denver, but he added that he is still under contract. Also of note, he has been training with Larry Fitzgerald in Orlando, who noted that Marshall is in great shape and does not believe it will take long for him to recover from hip surgery in late March.
July 2, 2009
According to Adam Schefter's Twitter page, the Broncos are willing to listen to offers for troubled wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Our View:The Broncos aren't shopping Marshall and won't actively make any calls involving him, but at this point they are willing to listen to deals. A first-round draft pick would certainly open their ears a bit wider.
June 30, 2009
A new report from TheDenverChannel.com is reporting that Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall told police that he hated the city of Denver during his 2007 arrest. "I hate Denver. I hope I get traded. I hate this f******* city," Marshall was quoted as saying in the police report.

Our View:It looks like Marshall wanted out two years ago already, although he probably would have said that in the police station of any city he was being arrested in. The bad PR for Marshall just keeps on coming, and it will be very interesting to see how his season goes if he stays in Denver next year.
June 29, 2009
The Broncos intend to hold their stance of refusing to honor Brandon Marshall's trade request, according to ESPN.

Our View:Marshall covets a new contract and may not show up for training camp, but the Broncos do not seem concerned as of now. It remains to be seen if the club would deal him if presented with a great offer.
June 20, 2009
According to the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall is continuing his holdout.

Our View:The Brandon Marshall saga continues. He returned to the Denver area to run a free football camp for kids, but was scheduled to fly back to Orlando Friday to continue not playing for the Broncos. Apparently no progress has been made and Marshall's presence is in jeopardy at training camp in July.

The Ravens have reportedly garnered interest in Broncos' receiver Brandon Marshall, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:The AFC North rival Browns are also believed to be interested in Marshall. The Ravens covet a top receiver to complement Derrick Mason. Quarterback Joe Flacco's fantasy stock would rise if the Ravens work out a deal to acquire the elite receiver from Denver.
June 17, 2009
Brandon Marshall has posted a goodbye message to Broncos fans on his blog according to the Associated Press.

Our View:This seems awful presumptuous for a player who will be difficult to trade because of character problems playing for a team who still says they are not trading him. As always with these NFL soap operas, wait and see.
June 16, 2009
There is a rumor swirling that the Broncos could deal star receiver Brandon Marshall to the Browns, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:The rumor suggests that Josh Cribbs and draft picks could be sent to Denver in a trade for Marshall. If Marshall did land in Cleveland, they would have a tremendous duo at receiver if Braylon Edwards remains with the club. AFC North rival Baltimore is also believed to be interested in Marshall.
June 16, 2009
Brandon Marshall's trade request has been confirmed by his agent, according to ESPN. His agent (Kennard McGuire) said, "There was a meeting with Mr. Bowlen and Brandon did ask to be traded. He was told by ownership that the team would do everything in its power to accommodate those wishes. We do feel that a change of scenery is not only important but necessary."

Our View:The Bears need a No. 1 receiver and would likely love to reunite quarterback Jay Cutler with Marshall - but the Broncos' asking price may be more than the club can afford. The fantasy stock of quarterback Kyle Orton would drop if Marshall is shipped out of Denver as well.
June 16, 2009
The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos are in no hurry to trade star wideout Brandon Marshall despite his trade request. The report indicates that the Broncos seem intent on waiting Marshall out due to the fact that there are several other high profile receivers who are unhappy with their deals and they are still with their respective teams.

Our View:One would think that there is no way the Broncos would trade Marshall after the Jay Cutler fiasco earlier this offseason, but at this point it is hard to tell what the team is thinking. The most likely scenario has Marshall staying in Denver, so don't be shocked to see him in a Broncos' uniform next season.

There are rumors swirling that Brandon Marshall could be dealt to the Ravens, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:The Ravens covet a top No. 1 receiver to pair with vet Derrick Mason. Marshall reportedly requested a trade, but Denver is yet to comment. The Broncos shipped star quarterback Jay Cutler to Chicago, and perhaps Marshall does not have faith in new starter Kyle Orton.
June 15, 2009
Brandon Marshall has requested a trade according to KOA.

Our View:This might finally be the end of the line for the gifted, but troubled, wide receiver in Denver. Without Jay Cutler, it was already unclear how valuable Marshall would be this season. Potential owners will just have to take a wait-and-see approach to who will be passing him the ball this season.

Updating a previous report, Broncos' disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Marshall met with team owner Pat Bowlen on Friday and left the team's practice facility after, according to the Denver Post. Marshall is not expected to attend any of this weekend's mandatory minicamp sessions while recovering from hip surgery and disputing his contract.

Our View:It was thought that Marshall was coming to make amends with the team, but obviously that was not the case. It remains to be seen if Marshall will attend training camp, but there is still a very small possibility that the Broncos will try to move him if they can't get him into camp. Stay tuned, as this situation is far from over.
June 12, 2009
Updating a previous report, DenverBroncos.com is reporting that wide receiver Brandon Marshall will report to the team's facility Friday afternoon for a meeting with coach Josh McDaniels. Marshall was not in attendance for Friday morning's mandatory camp session.

Our View:McDaniels didn't want to say much regarding Marshall, but it has to be a good sign that he is in town and reporting to a meeting with the coach. Since he can't practice anyway, it would appear that Marshall will be in attendance for the entire weekend, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. We will update this situation as more info is released.
June 12, 2009
According to ProFootballTalk.com, Broncos' wide receiver Brandon Marshall was not in attendance for the team's first day of mandatory minicamp on Friday. Marshall is recovering from hip surgery and would not have been able to practice, but he could be fined for not showing up.

Our View:Marshall's absence seems to indicate that he is holding out, as he has told the Broncos he would like a new contract. Marshall has said all along that his absence from the team's voluntary workouts were not due to his contract situation, but it looks now as if that is the case. It will be interesting to see when and if Marshall reports to Denver, and we will keep you updated on his status.
June 8, 2009
Brandon Marshall missed Monday's practice with the Broncos, according to the Associated Press. He is recovering from March hip surgery.

Our View:The practice was voluntary, and head coach Josh McDaniels expects Marshall to participate in this weekend's mandatory minicamp.

Brandon Marshall's trial for two misdemeanor battery charges involving his former girlfriend has been pushed back to August, according to ESPN.

Our View:No reason for the delay was disclosed, and it is uncertain if the two sides are working on a deal. He was previously slated to go to court June 11. He could face discipline from the NFL, depending on the outcome of his trial.
June 2, 2009
The Denver Post is reporting that Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to wait to discipline Brandon Marshall until the verdict of his court case is known. Marshall has been charged with misdemeanor battery for striking his former girlfriend, a charge which he has adamantly denied.

Our View:Marshall could avoid punishment from the league if he sees the trial through and is found not guilty, but chances are he will miss some time this season due to the incident. He has been a prior offender in the league's conduct policy, and Commish Goodell likes to make sure repeat offenders are punished.
May 29, 2009
According to the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall has moved his rehab away from the Broncos' Dove Valley complex to make a statement that he wants a new contract. Marshall is in the final year of his rookie deal.

Our View:Marshall's agent insists he is not a holdout, but it appears as if he is making a statement to the Broncos' front office. He is not likely to get extended, but monitor this situation to see if it affects his training camp participation.
May 27, 2009
Brandon Marshall has started running for the first time since undergoing hip surgery at the end of March, according to the Denver Post. Teammate Brandon Stokley said, "He looks good. I am glad he got it taken care of, because it was bothering him a lot last year, and he is going to be improved this year because of that."

Our View:Marshall's production may take a hit without Jay Cutler at quarterback, but he looks to bounce back healthy and should still be productive enough to keep his ranking as a No. 1 fantasy receiver under the direction of Kyle Orton.
April 9, 2009
Brandon Marshall is looking forward to playing with new quarterback Kyle Orton, according to the Denver Post. Marshall said, "We are excited to have him and it will be fun playing with him. He said he is happy to play with all of us - Eddie Royal, Tony Scheffler, Daniel Graham, Selvin Young - he named all of us."

Our View:As for Marshall's recovery from hip surgery, he said he is going to take his time and feels great. There is belief he could return to the gridiron by mid-July.
April 1, 2009
According to the Denver Post, Brandon Marshall will miss all of the Broncos pre-training camp workouts due to surgery on his hip. The procedure was performed yesterday.

Our View:Marshall should be healthy by July, but he's going to miss the beginning of the season anyway because of his suspension. He's still a talented receiver and you can get him late in your draft now, a-la Steve Smith last year.
March 17, 2009
Brandon Marshall is attending minicamp with the Broncos, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Marshall could be facing a suspension by the NFL stemming from an arrest on a disorderly conduct charge after an argument with his fiancee March 1. Until a punishment is actually dealt, Marshall ranks as a No. 1 fantasy receiver.
March 2, 2009
Charges of disorderly conduct have been dropped against Brandon Marshall, according to the Denver Post. His attorney Harvey Steinberg said, "Based on my investigation yesterday, he should not have been charged in the first place and I was confident the charges would be dismissed."

Our View:He would have faced a potentially long suspension if the charged had not been dropped, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell may still look into the incident.
March 2, 2009
Brandon Marshall was arrested in Atlanta for what is being reported as disorderly conduct. Marshall, who has a history of legal issues, apparently was in a fight. More details as they emerge.

Our View:Despite being his contract season, Marshall's fantasy value takes a significant hit with this news. This is the fourth time he's been arrested since March 2006 and last year he was suspended for the first week of the season. Additionally, Marshall had his punishment reduced when he pledged to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that he would stay out of trouble. This time the commissioner won't be so easy.
February 8, 2009
Brandon Marshall noted that he has matured since getting engaged to his girlfriend, according to the Denver Post. He said, "This is another phase of my life."

Our View:This is encouraging news as the elite receiver has been a risky fantasy prospect due to his off-the-field problems.
January 21, 2009
NFL.com reports that former Denver Broncos wide receivers coach Jedd Fisch has accepted a multi-year deal to become the offensive coordinator at the University of Minnesota. Fisch was recently interviewed about the offensive coordinator vacancy with the Detroit Lions.

Our View:Reports are that the Lions are now planning to interview former Rams head coach Scott Linehan and former Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudszinski for the position.
January 3, 2009
According to the Boston Globe, the Denver Broncos will interview Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Sunday for their head coaching job.

Our View:With the Patriots out of the playoffs, McDaniels is afforded the luxury of being able to interview at any time.
