Jay Cutler was able to throw for 251 yards off 26-of-37 passing, but he also had three interceptions and just one touchdown against Cincinnati. He also fumbled twice, though the Bears recovered both.

Our View:Cutler continues to be inconsistent for Chicago, although his performance wasn't that bad from a fantasy perspective. He should continue to post lofty numbers for the most part, though it'd help if he started to take better care of the ball.

Jay Cutler has agreed to a two-year extension with the Bears, according to Jason LaCanfora's (NFL Network) twitter page. The deal includes $30MM in new money, with $20MM guaranteed.

Our View:Cutler is now signed through the 2013 campaign. He is the best quarterback the Bears have had in a long time, and were wise to lock him up with an extension.

Jay Cutler completed 27-of-43 passes for 300 yards, two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions in a 21-14 loss to the Falcons on Sunday Night Football.

Our View:Cutler looked shaky early, tossing both of his interceptions in the first half, but pulled off some nice drives to keep the Bears alive late in the game. He also rushed for 34 yards, including a 30-yard scurry in the fourth quarter. But he ultimately failed to get the Bears in the end zone as time was running out in the final quarter and they couldn't tie the game. If he could have stayed away from the big mistakes it would have been a stellar outing for him.

ESPN Chicago is reporting that the Bears are in no hurry to get quarterback Jay Cutler signed to a long-term extension. When asked about the contract situation, Bears' president and CEO Ted Phillips was quoted as saying: "His contract situation will take care of itself, and we'll handle it at the right time. It's nothing that has been a sense of urgency for us, or for Jay, so we're going to just let it play out and see what happens."

Our View:There's very little doubt that Cutler will be signing a very wealthy contract extension with the Bears at some point, but the team wants to wait to start negotiations at this point. This is not a reflection of how the organization feels about Cutler, but instead is just a desire to focus on the season.

Jay Cutler tamed the Lions in today's 48-24 win at Soldier Field, as he completed 18-of-28 passes for 141 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed three times for eight yards and a touchdown.

Our View:Cutler did not reach at least 150 passing yards, but did a good job directing the Bears' offense with no turnovers. He has now thrown seven touchdown passes over his last three games.
