November 9, 2009 Matt Leinart was yanked from Cardinals garbage time duty on Sunday, according to the Our View:With the Cardinals comfortably ahead of the Bears, he was inserted into the game early in the fourth quarter. He threw an interception on third down of his first series, however, and was removed again for Kurt Warner for the duration of the game. It sounds like he's never been further behind Warner on the depth chart than he is now. |

August 31, 2009 Matt Leinart was limited during Monday's practice due to soreness in his left shoulder, according to the Our View:Head coach Ken Whisenhunt noted that the ailment is minor. Leinart's soreness stems from being hit during last Friday's preseason game against the Packers. |

August 13, 2009 Matt Leinart didn't exactly set the world ablaze trying to keep his backup quarterback job Thursday night against the Steelers. The embattled fourth-year pro went 8-of-14 for just 83 yards. He recorded no touchdowns or interceptions. Our View:His challenger, Brian St. Pierre, wasn't any better, however, going just 4-of-10 for 42 yards and a pick. This is certainly an evolving battle. |

August 4, 2009 Matt Leinart is in danger of losing his backup quarterback job, according to Our View:My, oh my. Leinart's perplexing NFL career got stranger this offseason when he partook in MMA training to get "tougher," and this, among other things, has apparently caused him to fall even further out of favor with his team. He is competing with 29-year-old journeyman Brian St. Pierre for the job, and reportedly must exhibit better mental toughness and decision making if he wants to remain Kurt Warner's understudy. |
