Vince Young completed 12 of just 19 passes for 172 yards and no touchdowns in Sunday's 34-27 win over the 49ers.

Our View:Young did manage to find the end zone with his feet on Sunday though, scoring on a seven-yard rush in the second quarter. He stayed away from fumbles and interceptions, which was a positive and led to a rare Titans win, but Chris Johnson did the majority of the work in this one. Young is still too inconsistent and doesn't air the ball out enough to be considered a fantasy worthy starter.
November 2, 2009
Vince Young was solid in his first start since September 7, 2008, completing 15-of-18 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown in Tennessee's 30-13 victory over the Jaguars.

Our View:He also carried the ball 12 times for 30 yards. While the performance was by no means a fantasy tour-de-force, at least for now, Young looks like a competent fill-in if you were a Collins owner and hadn't yet replaced him.
November 1, 2009
Vince Young feels confident as he gears up to make his first start of 2009 todat against the Jaguars, according to the Tennessean. He said, "I have been waiting for this. I am definitely more mature, definitely more comfortable in the offense. I am very confident. I just want to go out there and take care of my responsibilities as a quarterback, and get a win."

Our View:This is encouraging regarding the Titans' struggling offense, but Young shouldn't be considered for fantasy duty until he proves he can make an impact again.
October 30, 2009
Vince Young has officially supplanted Kerry Collins as the Titans' starting quarterback, and head coach Jeff Fisher has said the move is a long-term one, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:Despite a poor career quarterback rating, Young actually has an 18-11 record as a starter. With the money the team has invested in him, and with its 0-6 start, little, if no, reason existed for them to not to make this move. If you were starting Collins in one of your fantasy leagues, Young can't be much worse.
October 29, 2009
The Nashville Tennessean is reporting that sources are indicating that Vince Young will get the start for the Titans this week. An official announcement is expected later this afternoon.

Our View:The article cites sources within the organization, so it looks like the decision has been made. Jeff Fisher is expected to make the announcement in a few hours, so we will know for sure before long.
October 27, 2009
Titans owner Bud Adams has told coach Jeff Fisher he would like to see Vince Young starting at quarterback going forward this season, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:What do you want to bet the odds are that he is playing this Sunday? Fisher was non-committal when asked about the team's quarterback situation on Monday, the first time all season he had been so, and it is all but a formality now that Young will be under center against the Jaguars.
October 25, 2009
The Titans do not believe Vince Young is their quarterback of the future, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Young has still appeared in only 35 games for the Titans since he was drafted in 2006, but the results haven't been pretty: 33 interceptions compared to 22 touchdowns, a 56.9 completion percentage and overall quarterback rating of 67.8. That being said, he should have a chance to improve all those numbers in the second half of Tennessee's lost 2009 season.
October 12, 2009
Joe Biddle of the Nashville Tennessean believes that it is time for the Titans to see what they have in quarterback Vince Young now that the team is 0-5. Head coach Jeff Fisher came out on Monday and said that Kerry Collins will remain the team's starter.

Our View:The team is not looking like a playoff contender, so it makes since to give the ball to Young to evaluate if he can be the future of the team. The Titans will own Young $14.2 million next year if he is on the roster, so it would be a very good time to find out if that money will be worth it.
August 29, 2009
Vince Young finally had a good night on Saturday night, completing 17-of-24 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown.

Our View:Young has now looked good in two preseason games, while looking very bad in two others. He's in no danger of losing his back-up quarterback job, but no threat to Kerry Collins' starting one.
August 27, 2009
According to the Nashville Tennessean, Vince Young has been inconsistent all preseason and training camp, and has virtually no shot of taking Kerry Collins' starting job.

Our View:Young looked great in one preseason game and terrible in two others. His work on the practice field was more of the same. It seems every time he makes progress, he lays an egg his next time on the field. Barring massive, consistent improvement, don't expect much from his this season.
August 21, 2009
Vince Young was just 3-of-9 for 33 yards and threw an interception in the Titans preseason match-up with the Cowboys Friday.

Our View:Young's struggles continue. Kerry Collins looked much more effective and Young's day was highlighted by picks, underthrowing receivers and inept scrambles. He won't make his way up the depth chart with days like this.
August 18, 2009
Titans' owner Bud Adams noted that Vince Young will remain with the team and won't be dealt, according to USA Today. Adams said, "Young is under contract. He is not going anywhere. He is our quarterback of the future."

Our View:Young looked good in the Titans' preseason win over Tampa Bay last week, as he completed 9-of-14 passes for 131 yards. He is slated to serve as a backup to Kerry Collins this season, but could reclaim the reigns as a starter in 2010 - meaning he is worth stashing in keeper leagues.
August 15, 2009
Vince Young completed 9-of-14 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 27-20 preseason win over the Buccaneers.

Our View:This was a nice outing for Young as he tries to hold off Patrick Ramsey for the No. 2 role at quarterback behind starter Kerry Collins.
August 9, 2009
Vince Young, and not Patrick Ramsey, is still taking the second team reps for the Titans this preseason, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:There had been talk that Ramsey could supplant Young this season, but it appears to be nothing more than a ploy to get Young play harder. If Young has an absolutely disastrous rest of the preseason, Ramsey could still replace him, but it doesn't appear likely at this point.
July 19, 2009
The Nashville Tennessean suggest that Vince Young could be released after the 2009 season if he is outplayed by Patrick Ramsey this preseason.

Our View:The paper points out that Ramsey is familiar with offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger's offense, and that he's no threat to be a distraction, both quite unlike Young. It's hard to imagine that this will actually happen, and Young should still be the favorite to back up Kerry Collins this season, but given his recent checkered past, anything is possible.
June 15, 2009
ESPN.com reports that Vince Young denied having suicidal thoughts last season. He did admit that he did question his desire to play, but insists he loves everything going on in his life.

Our View:Young lost his starting job after a Week 1 knee injury and his mother called coach Jeff Fisher worrying for her son's safety, fearing that he was going to hurt himself. Young will battle for the starting job in training camp, but for now it appears that the job will go to Kerry Collins.
June 12, 2009
Vince Young does not want to be traded from the Tennessee Titans according to ESPN.

Our View:Not that the Titans would trade Young anyway, as he is still their quarterback of the future. Vince is understandably frustrated with his situation in Tennessee, but he will likely have to sit behind Kerry Collins for one more season before reclaiming his starting job.
June 3, 2009
Updating a previous report, Vince Young's agent tells the Associated Press that the quarterback does not want to be traded. Young told a Baltimore television station on Saturday that he would not be happy with a backup role on the Titans. Young's salary jumps to $14 million after this season.

Our View:Young has been working out at the Titans' Baptist Sports Park recently. His comments on Saturday were not clear in regards to wanting a trade, but it was very clear that he expects to start this season. Kerry Collins also expects to start at quarterback, so the battle dueing training camp could be a heated one.
June 1, 2009
Vince Young commented that he is not content with a bench role in Tennessee, according to WMAR-TV. Young said, "I definitely want to get back out there playing ball and picking up where I left off, winning games and having a good time with my teammates and with the fans. At the same time, if them guys do not want me to be in there, it is time for me to make a career change for myself. Because the fact is I am ready to play ball. If they are not ready for me to play ball, then somebody is."

Our View:Kerry Collins is currently working as the No. 1 quarterback, and head coach Jeff Fisher said that Young will have to earn his job back to unseat Collins. Young is taking it one day at a time.
May 7, 2009
Vince Young believes he has matured in the offseason, according to the Tennessean. Young said, "I am more mature. It is growing up, that is part of it. I am learning a lot and I am just taking care of my responsibilities. My job is to be here and work out and be attentive."

Our View:Young is competing with Patrick Ramsey for the No. 2 role at quarterback, but is not expected to push Kerry Collins for the starting job.
May 6, 2009
Vince Young has accepted his backup job with the Titans behind Kerry Collins and continues to work hard to prove to the team that he can be their leader in the future, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Young won't even be 26 for a couple of weeks, and it's not like Collins is a game changer under center. Still, it's a long shot that we will see Young on the field much at all this season considering how well the team has done with Kerry as the starter.
April 20, 2009
Vince Young will be forced to serve as a backup quarterback behind Kerry Collins, and potentially even Patrick Ramsey, but he intends to stay cool and be quiet, according to the Tennessean. Young said, "I am just going to keep my mouth closed, man. All I am doing this year is shutting up, just shutting up and working. I am going to smile and shut up and continue being Vince Young, a happy smiling guy. I am not going to get into the hoopla any more because of the fact I cannot win any more, I see."

Our View:Young could be the most athletic quarterback in the NFL, but he holds a poor 68.8 rating over 33 games in the NFL, with 32 interceptions.
March 29, 2009
Tennessee head coach Jeff Fisher stated that backup quarterback Vince Young will have to earn back his status as the team's starter, according to the Associated Press. "Vince is in a situation now where he will have to do everything he possibly can to earn his job back," Fisher said at the NFL owners' meetings. "That starts with the offseason commitment."

Our View:Young will have to supplant Kerry Collins, who signed a two-year deal recently, but the Titans want Young to show the dedication necessary to prepare should injuries arise, beat Collins flat-out come training camp.
March 5, 2009
Quarterback Vince Young is using the recent re-signing of starter Kerry Collins as motivation to work harder to get his job back, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:Young started the season opener in 2008, but then appeared in only two other games as Collins led the Titans to a 13-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
