The Associated Press reports that a source close to the team confirmed that Reggie Bush (knee) did not travel with the Saints to Tampa for Sunday's game.

Our View:Looks like Bush is officially out for Week 11. He is expected to return to practice next week and will most likely be active for Week 12, but there was no reason to push him on Sunday. With Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell capable of handling the backfield duties, Bush getting extra rest just made sense.
November 20, 2009
Reggie Bush did not practice again on Friday because of a bruised knee, and is questionable for Sunday, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Consider this a questionable that might not actually play. With Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell both in the fold, there's no reason for New Orleans to run their former overall number two pick out there against a middling Bucs squad.
November 19, 2009
Reggie Bush missed his second straight day of practice on Thursday with "knee issues," according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Typical Bush. He has his best game of the season against the Rams last Sunday (83 rushing yards, two total touchdowns), and then comes up lame. Consider him questionable for this Sunday.
November 18, 2009
Saints' running back Reggie Bush tweaked his knee in Sunday's win over the Rams, according to beat writer Jeff Duncan. The injury is not believed to be serious.

Our View:Bush was fitted with a sleeve, and he should be fine this week. He is coming off one of his better performances of the season, and he has five scores in his last five games.
November 15, 2009
Reggie Bush had six carries for 83 yards and one touchdown, as well as two receptions for 15 yards and a score in the Week 10 victory at St. Louis.

Our View:Bush only had eight touches but he scored twice, and now has five touchdowns in the last five games. Regardless, given the lack of overall touches, he is a risky play as anything more than a flex option.
November 3, 2009
Reggie Bush touched the ball a career low four times in the Saints win over the Falcons on Monday night, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:His two runs and two receptions netted him a total of 14 yards (and a touchdown). In the past four weeks combined, he has touched the ball just 26 times. It's becoming increasingly harder to justify "the league's most expensive decoy" as a flex-play in all but the deepest of leagues.
October 25, 2009
Reggie Bush gained just 26 yards off three carries and receptions a piece, though he did find paydirt on a 10-yard reverse play.

Our View:Bush had one of his signature sideline dives on the touchdown. Bush remains one of the speedier and most agile backs in the league, and while he'll continue to be outcarried by Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell, Bush will remain a factor in the air and on gadget plays.
October 4, 2009
Reggie Bush lost two fumbles in the Saints' Week 4 win over the Jets.

Our View:The fumbles came on a day where he generated just 44 yards of total offense. Bush now has three lost fumbles this season, while scoring just one touchdown this season. Truly, little reason exists to own him at this point.
September 15, 2009
Even with Mike Bell and Pierre Thomas both expected to see a good amount of carries in Week 2, Reggie Bush is not likely to see his amount of touches decrease, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Welcome news for Bush owners, as that would mean he would have basically none at all. He rushed just seven times for 14 yards on Sunday, and despite catching five additional balls for 55 yards, his performance was marred by two fumbles.
September 13, 2009
Reggie Bush might not be totally healthy per sources out of the Big Easy, according to Scout.com. The report speculates that Bush won't be utilized heavily in the running game against Detroit.

Our View:Bush underwent knee surgery during the offseason, and was slowed by a strained calf in training camp. However, he practiced fully this week and should be a key component of the Saints passing game. With Pierre Thomas out, look for Mike Bell to handle a significant portion of the carries.
August 27, 2009
Although Reggie Bush has said that he will play on Saturday in a preseason game against the Raiders, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that he will be a game-time decision due to his strained calf. Bush was held out of practice on Thursday.

Our View:The nagging injuries have already started to build for Bush. He has looked fast throughout the summer when presumed healthy, but he has missed a good amount of practice and preseason action because of various bumps and bruises.
August 24, 2009
The New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting that Saints' running back Reggie Bush fully expects to play in the team's next preseason game Saturday against the Raiders. Bush missed the last game while dealing with a minor calf injury.

Our View:The injury has been reported as minor, so Bush should be fine for the preseason game. Still, this injury isn't putting anyone at ease concerning the fragile label that has been placed on him in his NFL career. Don't target Bush too high in your draft, and you should be taking Pierre Thomas far earlier.
August 22, 2009
Reggie Bush was removed from the starting lineup before Saturday's preseason game against the Texans. Bush has been dealing with a minor calf injury.

Our View:Nothing serious here, as Bush probably could have played if it were a regular season game. He has a tendency to get banged up, and Pierre Thomas is a better fantasy option at this point.
August 20, 2009
Updating an earlier entry, Reggie Bush was limping on Thursday due to a strained calf, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times Picayune.

Our View:The injury is not considered serious, and coach Sean Payton said Bush could play if necessary, but it just serves as a reminder that it is always something with Bush. When you draft him, be very conscious of the fact that he could get hurt, seriously or not so seriously, at any moment.
August 20, 2009
According to the Houston Chronicle, Reggie Bush was seen limping after Thursday's practice.

Our View:No word yet on what's wrong with him, but Bush's surgically repaired knee is always a concern. It could be nothing, but Reggie just can't seem to stay healthy, so don't be surprised if there's a problem.
August 10, 2009
Reggie Bush indicated that his surgically-repaired knee feels great, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Bush is fully practicing in training camp again, and he should be fine to target in fantasy leagues, namely in the PPR format.
August 5, 2009
Updating an earlier story, Reggie Bush (knee) was walking with a limp after practice though he said he was alright, according to the Associated Press. "I iced it just as a precaution, so when I ice it, that means I'm just maintaining," Bush said. "I've got to stay on top of it and treat it as if it was the first day I injured it."

Our View:Bush, and the team, have continued to soft-pedal the injury to his knee. Count us in the other camp, i.e. those that are growing more concerned by the day. Bush had surgery on the knee last December, and to see him dealing with issues so early on in camp has us concerned.
August 5, 2009
According to WDSU New Orleans, Saints running back Reggie Bush stopped practicing about an hour into Wednesday's session due to problems with his surgically repaired knee.

Our View:Trainers immediately wrapped Bush's knee in ice after he pulled out of the practice. He has been sitting out every other day to try and rest the knee, but there are apparently still issues with it after claiming he felt good on Tuesday. The Saints insist they aren't concerned, but if this becomes a regular occurrence Bush's value will quickly plummet.
August 4, 2009
Reggie Bush said his swollen left knee "felt good" after returning to practice on Monday afternoon, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush missed the team's morning practice with the injury, but was fine for the afternoon. The knee became inflamed on Sunday afternoon, but apparently settled down as quickly as it flared up. Bush appeared to run without pain in the afternoon session, and the knee does not look to be a long-term problem.
August 3, 2009
Reggie Bush missed Monday's practice while dealing with swelling in his surgically-repaired left knee, according to WBRZ News in Louisiana.

Our View:Coach Sean Payton does not believe the swelling is anything significant, but held Bush out today to prevent him from missing more than a practice or two. The Saints will likely remain cautious with him throughout camp, but he should be good to go for the start of the season.
August 2, 2009
The Associated Press reports that Reggie Bush will be limited in training camp until he fully recovers from microfracture surgery.

Our View:Looks like coach Sean Payton wants to be careful with Bush and keep his reps limited in the early going. He hasn't had an injury free season since 2006 and the Saints will tread cautiously with their gifted back. He should be good to go when the season starts.
August 1, 2009
Reggie Bush sat out Saturday's practice with the Saints, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Head coach Sean Payton noted that Bush was merely resting, and not dealing with an issue regarding his surgically repaired left knee. He is expected to return to the practice field Sunday.
August 1, 2009
Running back Reggie Bush (knee) participated fully in Friday's practice. He is coming off microfracture surgery in his left knee. "I wouldn't say I'm 100 percent. I would say strength-wise 100 percent, health-wise at about 99.5 percent, which is expected on the first real day back," Bush informs the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Is that last 0.5 percent of health due a broken heart after splitting with Kim Kardashian? If he avoids injuries, Bush will likely split backfield touches with Pierre Thomas and be especially valuable in PPR leagues.
July 30, 2009
Reggie Bush will head into training camp at 100 percent health following his recovery from offseason knee surgery, according to WWLTV.com.

Our View:Pierre Thomas may handle the bulk of the workload at running back, but Bush should still be productive enough to satisfy fantasy owners as a No. 2 back. He is a better value for PPR leagues, as he averages 71 receptions over his last three seasons.
June 6, 2009
WWLTV.com is reporting that Reggie Bush was held out of Saturday's practices as a precautionary measure. Bush returned to the field Friday after offseason knee surgery, and the team didn't want to puch him too hard too fast.

Our View:Bush participated all day yesterday and looked good, so today was just a precautionary thing. Expect him to be fine for training camp, and expect him to be as exciting as ever in 2009.
June 5, 2009
The New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting that Reggie Bush returned to Saints' practice on Friday after offseason knee surgery. Bush was said to look "fully recovered" as he worked with the first team offense and the punt return team.

Our View:Bush is expected to share carries with Pierre Thomas, but he should still hold plenty of fantasy value. Bush's explosiveness catching the ball and as a punt returner should keep his stock decently high, but he is not a top back in the league.
May 25, 2009
Head coach Sean Payton indicated that the Saints are no longer in the market for a power running back, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate.

Our View:Pierre Thomas is expected to lead the Saints as the No. 1 running back, with the more explosive Reggie Bush complementing him. Mike Bell could etch out a role as a short-yardage specialist as well. This news makes it seem less likely that the Saints will pursue Edgerrin James.
May 21, 2009
Reggie Bush participated (on a limited basis) in OTA's with the Saints this week, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush is recovering from microfracture surgery, and recently stated he feels around 75 percent recovered. His rehab continues to go well, and he is ahead of schedule.
May 17, 2009
Reggie Bush feels he is around 75 percent recovered from his microfracture surgery in December, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush and the Saints' coaches have been pleased with his rehab so far, and he feels he is ahead of schedule. He is able to participate, but will be limited in the upcoming round of OTA's that start Tuesday.
April 28, 2009
ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that Reggie Bush has been working harder this offseason than in any other since he has been in the NFL. Bush feels like he needs to fulfill his potential after three average seasons.

Our View:Bush is said to have participated in nearly all of the voluntary team workouts this year, a stark contrast to his previous offseasons. His teammates have even commented on his new work ethic, telling him to save some for the season. If Bush is finally serious about making himself into an elite NFL player, his upside is still enormous.
April 6, 2009
Reggie Bush believes the Saints feel it is time for him to handle a larger role in 2009, according to the Associated Press. He said, "They are looking for me to be the guy back there. "By the moves that they are making, it definitely speaks volumes to me as to what I need to prepare myself for."

Our View:Bush is already a top option in their passing game out of the backfield, but could see an increased workload at running back, which would boost his fantasy value. It could also lower the value of primary backup Pierre Thomas, who led the Saints with 625 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in 2008.
March 25, 2009
Reggie Bush is not expected back on the field until mini-camps in June following his knee surgery. He is being limited to the gym during the conditioning program.

Our View:Bush should be ready to go by the start of next season, but his durability is turning from question mark to fact - that is he doesn't seem to have what it takes to play a 16-game schedule.
February 15, 2009
In an interview on Yahoo.com running back Reggie Bush reports that he is well ahead of schedule in regards to his recovery from knee surgery. He should be back to 100 percent well before training camp.

Our View:Bush has already earned the dreaded injury-prone label, but his ability to factor into New Orleans' passing attack makes him extremely valuable in PPR leagues. However, the team will likely lean on Pierre Thomas more heavily on rushing downs in hopes to prevent Bush from being further injured.
February 10, 2009
An organization that oversees the Louisiana Superdome has told state lawmakers that they will need to find $27.5 million dollars to fulfill contracts to keep the Saints in New Orleans, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The state pays the Saints and the Hornets cash payments to retain the teams in the state. The funds are needed to operate in the New Orleans market. If payments are not made the teams could leave without penalty but due to the economy such a move seems unlikely.
January 9, 2009
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Reggie Bush does not feel his latest knee surgery was a very serious one. He was on crutches for just two weeks following the December operation, and he is already working out. He expects to be a full-participant in the offseason training program that begins in March.

Our View:This is certainly good news for those who are debating whether or not to keep him. He certainly can be labeled as injury prone, but he should be at full strength come Week 1. He is an exceptional option in PPR leagues.
January 7, 2009
Reggie Bush will be out until June while recovering from left knee surgery, according to the Detroit News.

Our View:His operation involved drilling small holes in the bone around the knee joint in order to generate soft tissue that mimics the padding effect of cartilage. Bush is expected to be ready to go in time for minicamps.
January 6, 2009
Reggie Bush had microfracture surgery on his left knee after he was placed on injured reserve in December, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Bush has had knee issues for some time now. He's been one of the bigger disappointments in the NFL the last few years, and though he's expected to be healthy for training camp, it's yet another reason for fantasy owners to be weary of him next season.
