Titans Week 3 inactives: P Craig Hentrich, LB Stanford Keglar, T Troy Kropog, TE Bo Scaife, WR Lavelle Hawkins, DT SenDerrick Marks, DE Dave Ball, QB Vince Young.

Our View:Placekicker Rob Bironas is active, and should be fit for fantasy duty. The most significant loss is starting tight end Bo Scaife. Alge Crumpler will be his replacement. The Jets could get better field position with starting punter Craig Hentrich out as well.
September 25, 2009
Bo Scaife is questionable for Week 3 while still recovering from a knee injury, according to the Titans' official website. He was limited in practice today and Thursday.

Our View:Alge Crumpler would handle the bulk of the workload at tight end against the Jets if Scaife is unable to go. He led the club with 58 receptions in 2008.

Week 2 inactives: TE Bo Scaife, CB Cary Williams, OL Troy Kropog, DE Jacob Ford, WR Lavelle Hawkins, DT Sen'Derick Marks, and DT Kevin Vickerson.

Our View:With Scaife (knee) inactive, look for Alge Crumpler and rookie Jared Cook to share the tight end duties. Also, LB David Thornton (knee) is active and will start.

September 15, 2009
Head coach Jeff Fisher noted that Bo Scaife is uncertain to play in Week 2 against Houston, according to the Tennessean.

Our View:He won't need surgery for his knee injury suffered last Thursday at Pittsburgh, but there is no indication of when he may resume practicing. Alge Crumpler and rookie Jared Cook will handle the workload at tight end in his absence.

Bo Scaife will not need surgery on his injured knee, according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:However, it is still "unknown" whether or not he will practice this week, according to coach Jeff Fisher. Needless to say, you need to be exploring alternative options if you are an owner.

The Nashville Tennessean is reporting that Titans' tight end Bo Scaife could play in the team's Week 2 game against the Texans. Scaife suffered a knee injury in Thursday's season-opener, but the MRI came back with good results.

Our View:Scaife has some time to heal, as the Titans don't play again until September 20. He is still on crutches because of the swelling, but it seems likely that he could go without missing a game. We will update his status throughout next week.

Bo Scaife has called the James Harrison hit that knocked him out of Thursday night's game a "cheap shot," according to the Nashville Tennessean.

Our View:Scaife had caught five balls for 48 yards before suffering the knee injury in the third quarter. For now, consider him questionable for Week 2, and be ready to add an alternative.

August 19, 2009
Bo Scaife looked good in Wednesday's practice with the Titans, according to the Tennessean. He hauled in several nice catches, including one down the middle of the field when he found an open spot in the defense between linebacker Keith Bulluck and the safeties.

Our View:Scaife led the Titans with 58 receptions last season, and looks to be ready for another solid campaign in 2009 - but his production could take a hit as the club added Nate Washington and rookies Kenny Britt and Jared Cook to the aerial attack.
July 22, 2009
According to the Nashville Tennessean, tight end Bo Scaife will not sign a contract extension this season and will play for $4.5 million.

Our View:With new agent Drew Rosenhaus in tow, Scaife looks to figure out a long term deal after the season is over. He may have trouble getting what he wants though, due to the fact that his touches could decrease this season. He could lose playing time to Jared Cook and the Titans are looking to throw to their WRs more.
July 20, 2009
Super-agent Drew Rosenhaus announced on his Twitter page on Monday that Titans' tight end Bo Scaife has signed with Rosenhaus Sports Representation. Rosenhaus hopes to work out a long-term deal for Scaife with the Titans.

Our View:If Scaife is having trouble getting what he wants from the Titans, he made the right move here by signing with Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus can get things done, and the more players that sign with him, the more influence he holds in the sports world.

The Philadelphia Enquirer is reporting that the Eagles enquired about Bo Scaife in the days leading up to the NFL draft. Scaife was not eligible to be traded at the time since he had not signed his franchise tender.

Our View:This is a strange story, as apparently Scaife's Wikipedia page was changed to say he had been traded for Reggie Brown and a third round pick. Obviously that didn't happen, but it is interesting to note there may have been something to those talks.
April 27, 2009
According to the Nashville Tennessean, Bo Scaife will sign his franchise tender on Monday and report to the team's offseason program. It had been thought that Scaife would skip the offseason workouts if he didn't get a new long-term deal.

Our View:Scaife's agent claims he was going to sign anyway, but it is funny that this news breaks after the Titans drafted tight end Jared Cook in the third round of the draft. Scaife has been productive over the last few years and remains interested in working out a long-term deal with the club.

Updating an earlier report, the Titans have placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on tight end Bo Scaife, according to Scout.com.

Our View:Other teams can still sign Scaife to a deal, but the Titans would have the option to match the contract terms or be compensated with two first-round draft choices. The Titans do not want to lose Scaife as he led the club with 58 receptions in 2008.

Our View:The Titans re-signed kicker Rob Bironas and are unable to tag defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. The Titans cannot afford to lose Scaife as he led the club with 58 receptions in 2008. He could be useful for PPR leagues once again next season, even with Alge Crumpler around.

The Titans could place the franchise tag on Bo Scaife, according to the Tennessean. Tagging him would cost $4.46MM. They may also decide to place the tag on kicker Rob Bironas.

Our View:Scaife proved to be a solid complement to Alge Crumpler at tight end in 2008, as he hauled in 58 receptions for 561 yards.
