Newsbreakers
October 14, 2009
Sean Considine was limited in today's practice while still recovering from his groin injury, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View:Considine was inactive for Week 5, and is uncertain to return to action this weekend against St. Louis. Gerald Alexander has been filling in at strong safety in his absence.

Week 5 inactives: S Sean Considine, WR Mike Sims-Walker, DB Scott Starks, LB Adam Seward, LB Justin Durant, G Kynan Forney, OT Jordan Black, DE Greg Peterson.

Our View:We don't know what Sims-Walker did to get benched, but it's a tough blow for fantasy teams. Mike Thomas will start in his place. On the other side, IDP owners will be without Durant, who is the team's leading tackler. Brian Iwuh will start in the middle.

Week 4 inactives: LB Adam Seward, CB Brian Witherspoon, OT Eben Britton, OT Eugene Monroe, SS Sean Considine, WR Tiquan Underwood and CB William Middleton.

Our View:With both OT Eben Britton (knee) and OT Eugene Monroe (flu) inactive, the sledding could be rougher on offense for the Jaguars, particularly in the running game. On defense, SS Gerald Alexander is expected to start in place of Considine (groin).

Sean Considine is doubtful for Week 4 against Tennessee due to his groin injury, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Gerald Alexander should replace him at strong safety, which could benefit running back Chris Johnson and the Titans' offense. Considine was signed in the offseason to improve the Jaguars' defense.

Sean Considine did not practice today while nursing a groin injury sustained in Week 3, according to the Jaguars' official website.

Our View:Gerald Alexander would likely replace Considine at strong safety if he is unable to go in Week 4 against Tennessee. Considine was added in the offseason to help shore up the Jaguars' secondary.

Updating the previous post, safety Sean Considine injured his groin in the Week 3 win over the Jaguars, the Florida Times-Union confirms. Gerald Alexander replaced him.

Our View:Considine hasn't done enough to be a useful IDP talent early in this season, and we don't expect much out of Alexander if he needs to step into the starting role.
September 27, 2009
Sean Considine exited today's game at Houston, according to the Jaguars' twitter page.

Our View:It is believed he injured his left hamstring. Gerald Alexander replaced him at strong safety.
August 7, 2009
Sean Considine was excused from Friday's practice to attend the funeral service of defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, according to the Jaguars' official team website.

Our View:Considine worked with Johnson in Philadelphia from 2005-08. Considine is a hard hitter and plays with intensity, and will have a good chance to win the starting gig at strong safety with the Jaguars - potentially making him worth a look as a sleeper for IDP leagues.
February 27, 2009
NFL.com reports that free-agent safety Sean Considine signed a two-year, $3 million contract with the Jaguars.

Our View:Considine was mostly a backup in Philadelphia last season. he has started a total of 17 games in his career, but he will compete for that job in Jacksonville.
February 27, 2009
Sean Considine is going to visit the Jaguars today, according to Scout.com.

Our View:The Jags need depth at safety with Gerald Sensabaugh and Pierson Prioleau both unsigned. Considine would compete for the starting gig at strong safety if Brian Williams moves to cornerback, potentially making him a nice sleeper for IDP leagues.
