December 30, 2008 The Texans have fired defensive coordinator Richard Smith, according to the Our View:The Texans' defense finished the season ranked 22nd in the NFL, allowing more than 336 yards a game. They ranked among the worst in the league while allowing 24.6 points per game as well. |

December 28, 2008 Quarterback Matt Schaub completed 27-of-36 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 17 win over the Bears. Our View:Schaub showed off top-five fantasy quarterback potential this season, but for the second straight year, he was held to only 11 games due to injuries. His medical dossier could keep him out of top-10 lists entering 2009. |
