Newsbreakers
October 31, 2008
Reggie Williams, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, fully practiced Friday, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Williams is slated to start Sunday against the Bengals, who have already surrendered 13 scores through the air.
October 26, 2008
Reggie Williams caught three passes for 42 yards and a touchdown on Sunday.

Our View:Williams has been hit or miss, and mostly miss, this season for the Jags. He may need to step up if Matt Jones is suspended, but he has limited value until then.
September 7, 2008
Wide receiver Reggie Williams (hamstring) is active and will start in Week 1 against the Titans.

Our View:Williams was limited throughout the preseason, but he should be one of David Garrard's top targets in this tough matchup.
September 4, 2008
Jaguars wide receiver Reggie Williams returned to practice Thursday, after missing Wednesday’s practice because of a sore hamstring, according to the AP.

Our View:If Williams plays in Week 1 he could end up being the Jaguars best target with Jerry Porter still nursing his sore hamstring. Consider Williams more of a fantasy back-up than a starter for Week 1.
August 22, 2008
Reggie Williams missed the first two preseason games after undergoing knee surgery, but might be able to play in the Jaguars' next game Saturday night, according to the Florida Times-Union. Williams said, "The knee feels fine, like it never happened."

Our View:Williams looks to be on pace to play in Week 1, and could serve as a solid fantasy backup as he scored 10 touchdowns on only 38 receptions in 2007.
August 19, 2008
Reggie Williams is very close to returning after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View:Williams was working on running routes and cutting, so he will be back shortly. However, it is still up in the air as to whether or not he will play in the team's upcoming preseason game on Saturday. Williams snagged 10 touchdown passes last season and is a quality third option on fantasy teams.
August 14, 2008
Reggie Williams, who is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, has resumed running and could return to practice at some point next week, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Our View:There is no indication that Williams has lost his starting spot while unable to practice. Williams would likely be the No. 2 option with Jerry Porter expected to be the top target, but Williams would still have a shot to lead the receiving corps in touchdowns, as he scored 10 times on only 38 receptions in 2007.
July 30, 2008
Jaguars' wide receiver Reggie Williams will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery after re-injuring his right knee during training camp, according to the AP. Williams initially hurt his knee working out last week and opened camp on the physically unable to perform list. He was activated Tuesday and returned to practice but tweaked his knee during the evening session.

Our View:No timetable is set for his return, but don't count on it being anytime soon. This likley bumps up the values of Jerry Porter, Troy Williamson and Dennis Northcutt. We'll let you know as soon as we know when Williams is expected back.
July 29, 2008
Just hours after the Jaguars pulled him off the PUP list and put him back on the practice field, receiver Reggie Williams re-aggravated his injured right knee and was carted off the field for testing, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:During the evening practice, Williams made a spin move after a reception and hurt the knee. He limped to the sideline, was examined by team trainers and then carted off the field to the locker room for tests. Williams was placed on the physically unable to perform list as the team opened training camp Saturday. He said he sprained his knee running steps inside Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. For fantasy owners, the warning flags are up and waiving. At this point, it would be wise to question if this guy has it in him to stay healthy. Match that with a disappointing career thus far and you should have all the knowledge you need on Williams come draft day.
July 29, 2008
Reggie Williams has been removed from the PUP list and practiced with the team on Tuesday morning according to the team's website.

Our View:He had better get to work. The Jags bolstered their receiving corps over the offseason by adding veterans Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson to challenge Reggie Williams and Dennis Northcutt for starting roles.
July 26, 2008
As anticipated, the Jaguards have placed receiver Reggie Williams and four other players on the team's PUP (physically unable to perform) list, according to CBSSports.com.

Our View:Receiver Jerry Porter (hamstring), defensive end Jeremy Mincey (wrist), safety Chad Nkang (wrist) and tight end George Wrighster (knee) also were placed on the PUP list. The five players can be activated at any time during training camp, but putting them on the list protects the Jaguars from being on the hook for their entire salaries if the injuries prevent them from making the final roster.
July 25, 2008
Jacksonville wide receiver Reggie Williams "tweaked" his knee and may wind up on the Physically-Unable-to-Perform list if he does not heal in a few days, according to Pete Prisco of Sportsline.com.

Our View:Williams was going to be one of the Jaguars top two wide receivers, so this is a blow to the team. There is no official word on what the injury is, so keep this in mind if you have a fantasy draft this weekend and are intrigued by Williams' 10 touchdowns.
June 10, 2008
Reggie Williams had another impressive practice on Tuesday and has further solidified his number two spot at receiver, according to Jaguars.com. Receivers' coach Todd Monken said, "Reggie’s improved. I think he’s matured. I think he’s more receptive to coaching. I think he’s understanding concepts."

Our View:He is expected to join Jerry Porter as the Jaguars' starting receivers for 2008. He only racked up 38 receptions last season, but converted 10 of them for touchdowns.
June 2, 2008
Reggie Williams is reportedly looking better than ever so far this spring, according to Jaguars.com. He is said to look smoother, more polished, and more mature. He is catching the ball well away from his body, and isn't suffering from drops.

Our View:The competition for the two starting spots at wide receiver will be highly competitive and interesting to follow, between Williams, Dennis Northcutt, and newcomers Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson, who was a high draft pick for Minnesota but was run out of town due to poor concentration and too many drops.
May 30, 2008
Wide receiver Reggie Williams is working with the first team at the Z receiver slot at organized team activities, while Jerry Porter is manning the X slot, or the spot that Jimmy Smith used to fill in the Jacksonville Jaguars offense, according to the Florida Times Union.

Our View:It appears that Williams has completely worked his way out of head coach Jack Del Rio’s doghouse, and he could improve on last year’s 38 receptions, though the 10 touchdowns will be difficult to duplicate. We also expect a spirited competition in training camp between Dennis Northcutt and Troy Williamson for the slot role.
January 12, 2008
The Jaguars list Reggie Williams as probable for today's game. He missed practice Thursday with a back injury but got in a light session on Friday, according to the Florida Times-Union. He's expected to start tonight against the Pats.
