According to Raider's beat writer David White of the San Francisco Chronicle, Chris Johnson will win the left cornerback job.

Our View:Johnson was favored to win the job all along, but the poor play of Stanford Routt on Thursday, considerably widened the gap between the two. Johnson should have no trouble keeping a stranglehold on the starting spot.

As expected, the Raiders have re-signed Chris Johnson to a four-year deal, according to the SF Chronicle. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:The speedy cornerback fared well after the Raiders cut loose DeAngelo Hall, and retaining his services was a priority. He notched three interceptions in 2008, and could improve on that number next season with opposing quarterbacks throwing to his side of the field to avoid the elite Nnamdi Asomugha.

The Raiders are reportedly attempting to re-sign cornerback Chris Johnson before free agency begins, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Johnson played very well following DeAngelo Hall's departure last season. He finished out the year making the three interceptions for 68 yards and 12 passes defended. He holds some deep sleeper fantasy value as opposing quarterbacks figure to throw his way often with Nnamdi Asomugha playing opposite of him.

The Contra Costa Times reports that Chris Johnson will take over the starting cornerback job now that DeAngelo Hall has been cut by the Raiders. He has seen most of his action this season on special teams.

Our View:Johnson played some cornerback last week with Nnamdi Asomugha hindered by his elbow injury. He registered his first career interception in the game.

Chris Johnson played right cornerback and stepped up with Nnamdi Asomugha hindered by his elbow injury, according to the SF Chronicle. He registered the first interception of his career against the Chargers, while chipping in a solo tackle.

Our View:He did not record an interception over the first four years of his career, and should continue to be ignored as a fantasy prospect.
