ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that the Chiefs and embattled running back Larry Johnson have reached an accord where he will still be suspended for two weeks, but only lose one game check.

Our View:It's amazing that the Chiefs were forced to cave, but this punishment is still better than no punishment. As long as Jamaal Charles isn't awful in Johnson's absence, his days as the team's feature back are over.

Larry Johnson will have an appeal heard on his two-week suspension from the Chiefs either next Monday or Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Our View:Well at least he learned his lesson. After probably being lucky to not get released immediately by the Chiefs (it's probable that he still will be), he still thinks a two-game suspension is too much for insubordination and insulting an entire group of American citizens and Chiefs fans. There's clueless, and then there's Larry Johnson.

Updating an earlier report, Larry Johnson intends to appeal his two-week suspension dealt by the Chiefs, according to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Our View:Johnson's agent Peter Schaffer does not believe the discipline imposed by the Chiefs is legal under the CBA. The Chiefs are on their bye this week, and Kolby Smith and Jamaal Charles are sharing reps with the starting offense with the belief that Johnson's suspension will stick.

Larry Johnson has been dealt a two-week suspension by the Chiefs, according to Kent Babb's (Kansas City Star) twitter page.

Our View:Johnson is being disciplined for his negative comments against head coach Todd Haley, as well as a gay slur. Jamaal Charles should handle the bulk of the workload at running back in his absence. The Chiefs have their bye this week.
October 27, 2009
The Chiefs will reportedly part ways with Larry Johnson in the near future, according to RealGM.com.

Our View:The news is said to be coming from an undisclosed team source, and should be viewed as speculation for now. Johnson has fallen out of favor with the Chiefs for using a gay slur, which is not the first time that has happened. He also had negative comments toward head coach Todd Haley, and the former stud rusher is currently isolated from the team. The Chiefs are on their bye this week.
