Newsbreakers
October 30, 2009
Adrian Peterson (strained knee) has returned to practice, and will play this weekend, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Peterson is one of the Bears' top special teams players, and the primary back-up to Matt Forte. His presence should be a nice boost against the Browns, as the Bears attempt to get the taste of last week's 45-10 humiliation at the hands of the Bengals out of their mouths.
October 28, 2009
Adrian Peterson (strained knee) was limited in Bears practice on Wednesday, according to the team.

Our View:The poor man's A.P. has zero carries since Week 3, and appears to have been passed on the team's depth chart by Garrett Wolfe.
October 23, 2009
Adrian Peterson (strained knee) was held out of practice for the second straight day on Friday, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:By the day, it's looking more and more like Garrett Wolfe will again be the Bears' primary back-up running back this weekend.
October 23, 2009
Adrian Peterson (strained knee) did not practice on Thursday, according to ESPN.

Our View:Peterson missed Week 6 with the injury, and his status for Sunday is very much in doubt. As was the case last Sunday, look for Garrett Wolfe to spell starter Matt Forte most often.
October 18, 2009
The Bears have declared RB Adrian Peterson, CB D.J. Moore, DL Gaines Adams, LB Hunter Hillenmeyer, DL Jarron Gilbert, WR Juaquin Iglesias, OG Lance Louis and DL Matt Toeaina all inactive for Week 6.

Our View:Peterson is still dealing with a strained MCL and he and the other crop of Bears won't see any action against the Falcons on Sunday night.
October 5, 2009
Updating an earlier report, Adrian Peterson is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after suffering a strained MCL in his right knee in Sunday's battle with the Lions, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:The Bears have a bye in Week 5. Garrett Wolfe would serve as Matt Forte's primary backup if Peterson is unable to return in Week 6 at Atlanta.
October 5, 2009
Adrian Peterson's knee sprain is not considered serious, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:It sounds like the worst case scenario is that he will be a game-time decision on Sunday. Garrett Wolfe is the Bears' third string running back.
October 4, 2009
The knee injury that forced running back Adrian Peterson from the Bears' win over the Lions on Sunday is a sprained right knee, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Sounds like he could miss some time. If that's the case, Garrett Wolfe will fill in as Matt Forte's back-up.
October 4, 2009
Adrian Peterson exited today's NFC North battle against Detroit after injuring his right knee, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:His return is uncertain. Garrett Wolfe is filling in as the No. 2 running back behind Matt Forte.
August 15, 2009
Adrian Peterson led the Bears in rushing in tonight's 27-20 preseason loss to Buffalo. He had seven carries for 27 yards, with a long of seven. He also caught one pass for five receiving yards.

Our View:This was a good outing for Peterson as he fights to win the No. 3 role at running back. He will not hold much fantasy value in 2009, barring injuries.
April 14, 2009
Adrian Peterson could be expendable with Kevin Jones likely to serve as the primary backup behind starter Matt Forte in 2009, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Garrett Wolfe looks to serve as the third option.

Our View:The Bears may not decide to carry four running backs, which would likely push Peterson out. He averaged five yards over 20 rushing attempts in 2008, and should be able to find work without another club though.
