The Washington Times reports that Clinton Portis aggravated his ankle injury in the Redskins loss to the Eagles on Monday.

Our View:Portis rushed for just 43 yards on 14 carries, and this could go a long way toward explaining those numbers. For the 'Skins to have any chance at a non-embarrassing season, they are going to need Portis relatively healthy and ready for some bruising games.

Clinton Portis struggled to get anything going on Monday as the Redskins fell to the Eagles on Monday Night Football. Portis rushed for only 43 yards on 14 carries in the loss.

Our View:Portis has been dealing with an ankle injury all week, and it could have played a factor in tonight's performance. The Skins threw the ball 43 times tonight, which also played a role in his limited performance.

NFL.com is reporting that Redskins' running back Clinton Portis is active and starting for tonight's Monday Night Football game. Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is also active and expected to start.

Our View:Portis returned to practice on Saturday, so there was very little doubt that he would play today. Haynesworth's status was more uncertain, but he is expected to be close to full speed tonight as well.

Clinton Portis returned to practice on Saturday after sitting earlier in the week with a sprained ankle, according to the Washington Times. Portis is expected to start Monday night against the Eagles.

Our View:No surprise here, as Portis has been expected to start all week. He is a nice play against the Eagles for fantasy owners, so get him in if you have him.

The Washington Post reports that Clinton Portis was held out of practice for the third straight day on Friday with an ankle injury, but that he is still likely to play against the Eagles on Monday night.

Our View:Portis is a famous "never practices, always plays" player, and there is no doubt that he will be suited up on Monday. He is coming off his first 100-yard rushing game of the season last week, and is a good play against the Eagles' middle-of-the-road run-defense.
