Adam Schefter is reporting on his Twitter page that the Panthers have placed quarterback Josh McCown on the season-ending injured reserve list. McCown was injured after replacing starter Jake Delhomme on Sunday against the Eagles.

Our View:The Panthers already had a difficult quarterback situation, and now this move almost guarantees that the team will be bringing in a free agent. Jeff Garcia is an option, and he could push Delhomme for the starting job if he is signed by the team. The team also appears interested in former Eagle A.J. Feeley.

According to the Rock Hill Herald, Panthers' backup quarterback Josh McCown is unlikely to be available for the team's Week 2 game against Atlanta. McCown left the game with left knee and foot injuries after taking over for Jake Delhomme.

Our View:The Panthers are in big trouble at the quarterback position for this season. Delhomme has turned the ball over 11 times in his last two games going back to last season, and McCown is hardly the answer either. If Delhomme continues to struggle, expect the Panthers to make a move.

Josh McCown injured his knee and foot in today's game against the Eagles, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:McCown was called into action in place of the struggling Jake Delhomme. Even if healthy, McCown should not be on fantasy rosters.
