January 26, 2010 Lito Sheppard is expected to be released by the Jets, according to Dave Hutchinson of the Star-Ledger. Our View:The former member of the Eagles only played in 11 regular season games with the Jets in 2009 due to injuries. New York had a strong pass defense, but they still want to upgrade their secondary in free agency or the draft. |

Our View:Sheppard's absence was non-injury related, and he should be ready to go for Sunday's playoff match-up at San Diego. He forms one of the top cornerback tandems in the NFL with stud Darrelle Revis. |
