T.J. Duckett worked out with the Giants on Tuesday, according to the Twitter page of Adam Schefter. Duckett was released by the Seahawks before the regular season.

Our View:Duckett was let go by Seattle after the team brought in Edgerrin James, so his services are for hire. He is a big back who can be very productive in short-yardage situations, but he wouldn't be much of a change of pace from starter Brandon Jacobs.

Confirming a previous report, the Seahawks have officially released running back T.J. Duckett, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:With the signing of Edgerrin James, Duckett became expendable in Seattle. He flourished in short-yardage situations last season, and he should find work in the same capacity with someone this season.

T.J. Duckett has reportedly been released by the Seahawks after signing Edgerrin James, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

Our View:Duckett only averaged 2.8 yards over 62 rushing attempts in 2008, but should be able to find work with another club as a backup and short-yardage option. Julius Jones and Edgerrin James will hold the top two spots on the depth chart at running back, with Justin Forsett the top candidate for the No. 3 role.

T.J. Duckett has said he would like more carries in 2009, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:Duckett said he believes the Seahawks new zone blocking system fits his style as a one-cut, downhill runner. It's certainly possible he could garner more carries in '09, but he's still more likely to remain a short-yardage, goal line extraordinaire, with Julius Jones getting considerably more touches. He probably shouldn't be drafted in most casual leagues, but could be worth adding and starting during bye weeks if the Seahawks are going up against weak run-defense teams.

Seattle offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said that he will use running back T.J. Duckett in role like the one he had in Atlanta, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:If Knapp holds true to his word, Duckett will be a viable fantasy option next season. He ran the ball at least 100 times in each of his four seasons with the Falcons, but hasn't run it more than 65 times since then. And in his final three years in Atlanta, Duckett scored at least eight rushing touchdowns every year.
