According to the Associated Press, Jeremy Shockey returned to practice on Wednesday and worked through all the Saints drills despite his knee injury.

Our View:The fact that he's back on the field is great news and leads us to believe that he'll play in the Super Bowl, but how effective he'll be remains to be seen. Monitor his practice the rest of the week, but if he's not close to 100 percent come game time, don't expect him to be much of a threat in the passing game.

According to the Saints official website, tight end Jeremy Shockey did not practice on Friday due to a knee injury.

Our View:Shockey hasn't practiced all week due to the injury, but he is still expected to play in the Super Bowl. He said he'd play through the pain, but is currently listed as questionable. We should have a better idea about his status the middle of next week.

Jeremy Shockey (knee) did not practice for the Saints on Thursday, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Head coach Sean Payton has already said he will play in the Super Bowl, however, and he will almost surely be practicing by next Wednesday or Thursday.

Jeremy Shockey (knee) will reportedly be close to 100 percent by the Super Bowl, according to CBS Sports.

Our View:Coach Sean Payton limited his snaps in the NFC Championship game after he was limited in practice all of last week, but likely won't do the same in the big game. That being said, if Shockey never gets to 100 percent, David Thomas has proven to be a very adequate fill-in. Stay tuned.

Jeremy Shockey is reportedly running around well during pregame warmups, according to WWL-TV Sports on twitter.

Our View:As previously reported, Shockey will be active for the NFC Championship against Minnesota. As of now, it does appear not that he will be hindered by his ailing knee.
January 24, 2010
Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune tweeted that Jeremy Shockey is expected to play in today's NFC Championship against Minnesota. He has been nursing a knee injury.

Our View:Shockey will be facing a Minnesota defense that finished the regular season ranked 19th in pass defense, and allowed nine touchdowns to tight ends.
January 23, 2010
Jeremy Shockey (knee) participated in the Saints' walkthrough on Saturday, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Barring a setback, you can expect him on the field against the Vikings tomorrow, though David Thomas will certainly see some snaps at tight end as well.
January 22, 2010
Jeremy Shockey (knee) missed Saints practice yet again on Friday, according to Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:He is officially questionable for Sunday. If he can't go, it won't have too large of an effect on the Saints' buzzsaw offense, as David Thomas proved to be a more than capable alternative in 2009.
January 21, 2010
Jeremy Shockey (knee) was again held out of Saints practice on Thursday, according to ESPN.

Our View:For now, he's still expected to play on Sunday. If he is unable to go, David Thomas will get the start.
January 20, 2010
Jeremy Shockey (knee) did not participate in Saints practice on Wednesday, according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Our View:However, he is expected to play against the Vikings this Sunday. You should only be concerned if misses practice on Friday. Stay tuned.

Jeremy Shockey, who tweaked his right knee against the Cardinals on Saturday, also apparently aggravated an injury to his right toe, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Shockey is fully expected to play against the Vikings next week, though with several lingering ailments and David Thomas' emergence, you shouldn't expect too much production out of him.
January 17, 2010
Jeremy Shockey believes he is OK after injuring his right knee in Saturday's playoff win over Arizona, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Shockey will gear up for the NFC Championship against the Vikings, who surrendered nine touchdowns to tight ends in the regular season.
January 16, 2010
Jeremy Shockey limped off the field after scoring a touchdown in the first quarter of today's game against Arizona, according to Jeff Duncan's (New Orleans Times-Picayune) twitter page.

Our View:Doctors are checking out Shockey's right knee, and his status is yet to be updated.
January 12, 2010
The Associated Press reports that Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey (toe) is expected to play in this weekend's divisional round game.

Our View:Shockey was rested down the stretch but the team insists that was just as a precaution. They didn't want him aggravating his toe injury, and now that he's healthy the Saints should see a positive bump in the passing game and run-blocking scheme this weekend.
