January 31, 2010 Julius Peppers reiterated on Sunday that he is open to playing anywhere in 2010, according to the Charlotte Observer. Our View:He says he hasn't "thought about" where he wants to play next season. Unless the Panthers are willing to pay him over $1 million a game again in 2010 (via the franchise tag), don't expect it to be in Carolina. |

January 5, 2010 Julius Peppers has said that comments he made last offseason about no longer wanting to play in Carolina are "no longer pertinent," according to the Charlotte Observer. Our View:Whether or not the Panthers are ready to give him a huge extension, however, is the real question. Were they again to go the franchise tag route, Peppers would cost them a staggering $21.8 million in 2010. Whatever happens with Peppers this offseason, consider that the least likely scenario. |

Our View:Peppers is coming off of his sixth double-digit sack season in 2009, and looking to finally sign a long-term deal after getting franchised by Carolina last summer. Were the Panthers to franchise him again this offseason, he would stand to make upwards of $21 million in 2010. With feelings between the two sides frayed, his stay could be done in North Carolina. |
