Pro Football Weekly reports it is not likely that the Indianapolis Colts will attempt to sign a big-name wideout like T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the offseason should they release Marvin Harrison, which they are expected to do.

Our View:Anthony Gonzalez is more than capable of handling the No. 2 receiver role besides Reggie Wayne, and they are more likely to select another wideout in the draft.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh is nearing free agency with the Bengals this off-season, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. He commented, "I don't know what's next. I'm curious and excited to see what's going to happen in the next couple of months. I don't want to be franchised. It's a lot of money, but the situation I'm in I'd prefer to have a contract. Who wouldn't?"

Our View:The Bengals could stick their franchise tag on Houshmandzadeh. It would limit his movement in free agency but guarantee him a one-year deal salary to the average of the top five at his position. He has hauled in 294 receptions with the Bengals over the last three seasons, with 92 coming over 15 games in 2008.

Wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh (back) is inactive for the Week 17 game against the Chiefs.

Our View:With Chad Ocho Cinco also out, we expect to see a lot og Chris Henry, Andre Caldwell, and Jerome Simpson.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh was limited in practice due to his back ailment, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:He remains probable for Sunday's home game against the Chiefs and should be safe to pencil into lineups. He needs eight receptions to reach at least 100 for the second straight season.
December 25, 2008
Adam Schefter of the NFL Network reports the Bengals are not expected to franchise pending free agent wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh this offseason.

Our View:Houshmandzadeh has 92 catches this season despite the absence of Carson Palmer for most of the season and should be in for a huge payday.
