Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette is reporting on Twitter that the Packers worked out running backs Dominic Rhodes and Ahman Green on Monday.

Our View:Rhodes was cut loose by the Bills earlier this season, but he hasn't been able to find work since. Green has worked out for a number of team, but he too remains a free agent. We will keep you updated if the Packers decide to sign one of these guys.

According to the Twitter page of Adam Schefter, the New York Giants brought running back Dominic Rhodes in for a workout on Tuesday. Rhodes was released by the Bills earlier this season.

Our View:The Giants are in need of some depth at running back after suffering some injury problems already this season, and Rhodes would be a guy who could contribute this season. He was a surprise release by the Bills before the season started, but this guy can still play at this level.

Dominic Rhodes has been released.

Our View:A little surprising, considering the decent season Rhodes had in Indianapolis in 2008, rushing for 538 yards and six touchdowns on 152 carries. The Bills wouldn't have had much need for him after Week 3, however, with Marshawn Lynch set to return from suspension then.

Dominic Rhodes will get a fair chance to compete for the starting job at running back for the Bills while Marshawn Lynch is serving his suspension, but Fred Jackson is considered the favorite for the lead role, according to the Buffalo News.

Our View:The winner of the starting gig will hold decent fantasy value over the first three weeks until Lynch returns, but is remains to be seen if the Bills' offense will struggle after dealing elite left tackle Jason Peters to Philadelphia.

Running back Dominic Rhodes signed a two-year deal with the Bills on Friday, Pro Football Weekly reports.

Our View:Nice signing by the Bills. Marshawn Lynch will miss the opening three games due to a suspension (barring an appeal), and Fred Jackson is skipping workouts in an effort to get a new contract. Rhodes, 30, posted 428 total yards in four starts with the Colts last year and gives the Bills some insurance heading into the season.
