The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Drew Bennett has been placed on injured reserve ending his season. He suffered a broken foot in the first quarter of the first game this season.

Our View:Bennett has disappointed ever since he signed with the Rams. With St. Louis developing quality young receivers, Bennett's days of fantasy consideration could be over.

Rams receiver Drew Bennett will once again be held out of action this week, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Bennett broke his foot in the first quarter of the team's Week 1 game. Even when he does get back, his fantasy value is very low, as he has been replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Donnie Avery.
October 26, 2008
Rams inactives: QB Brock Berlin (3rd), CB Tye Hill, DB Todd Johnson, RB Steven Jackson, G Roy Schueing, T John Greco, WR Drew Bennett, NT Adam Carriker.

Our View:Steven Jackson (thigh) is inactive, and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Antonio Pittman.
October 23, 2008
Rams wide receiver Drew Bennett will not play Week 8 against the Patriots, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Bennett is still recovering from a broken foot suffered Week 1. When he does come back, he will be the third wideout due to the emergence of rookie Donnie Avery.
October 12, 2008
Rams inactives: WR Drew Bennett, WR Keenan Burton, CB Tye Hill, RB Antonio Pittman, G Roy Schuening, T John Greco, WR Dane Looker.

Our View:Wide receivers Drew Bennett, Dane Looker and Keenan Burton are all out. Head coach Jim Haslett has stated that he will feature running back Steven Jackson and receivers Torry Holt and Donnie Avery going forward.
October 7, 2008
Drew Bennett could be back with the team Week 7, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He has been out since breaking a bone in his foot during the team's opening game.

Our View:Bennett has been an enormous bust since signing a free agent contract with the Rams. He has little fantasy value unless he proves he can stay healthy and catch the ball consistently.
September 28, 2008
Week 4 inactives: QB Brock Berlin (3rd), WR Keenan Burton, RB Antonio Pittman, DB Brannon Condren, G Roy Schuening, OT John Greco, WR Drew Bennett, and DE Eric Moore.

Our View:Steven Jackson, Orlando Pace, Leonard Little, Jacob Bell, and James Hall are all active. That's excellent news for a team in need of good news. And a hug.
September 8, 2008
Drew Bennett is expected to miss at least six weeks after fracturing his left foot in the Rams' Week 1 loss to Philadelphia, according to the Belleville News-Democrat.

Our View:Bennett's injury woes continue, as the Rams lose one of their best targets. We'll keep you updated on his situation. Bennett hasn't been fantasy worthy since leaving the Titans.
September 8, 2008
Drew Bennett sustained a left foot injury in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Bennett said, "My toe got caught in a strange spot. All the pressure of the tackle came down on my knee and on my foot, and my foot just gave a little bit."

Our View:Bennett is scheduled for an MRI today, and team doctors told Bennett there's the possibility of some tendon (or plantar fascia) damage.
September 7, 2008
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a number of the Rams player personnel suffered injuries in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. The report mentioned that only one was considered serious; the foot of Drew Bennett .

Our View:The report didn't expound on Bennett's ailment other than to say he will have an MRI Monday.
September 7, 2008
Drew Bennett injured his ankle during the first quarter against Philadelphia and has been carted off the field. No further information is currently available.

September 1, 2008
Drew Bennett is feeling good and looking to get in a full week of practice, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He has been dealing with a groin ailment.

Our View:We will keep you posted on his status for Week 1 against the Eagles, but it seems he will likely be ready to play.
August 24, 2008
St. Louis wide receiver Drew Bennett suffered a groin injury in the 1st quarter of Saturday's preseason game against Baltimore and was finished for the evening, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Dante Hall came up gimpy after a punt return.

Our View:Hall, who is scheduled to be the team's No. 3 wide receiver, was finished for the night, too, with a sprained ankle. Hall missed nine games last season, and ended up on injured reserve, because of ankle problems. There is no word on the severity of Bennett's problem, but it is not believed to be serious.
August 20, 2008
Wide receiver Drew Bennett has had a strong showing in training camp so far, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “He’s proven to me we can count on him,” head coach Scott Linehan said.

Our View:He may have proven something to Linehan, but he has not to fantasy owners in recent seasons. He was a bust last season after coming to St. Louis as a free agent, catching just 33 passes. He is still not someone fantasy owners should be counting on.
August 1, 2008
St. Louis Rams wide receiver Drew Bennett returned to practice for the team today after missing yesterday's activities with a sore knee, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Bennett should be the number two wide receiver in St. Louis now that Isaac Bruce is gone, and the team is counting on him to dramatically improve on his 33-catch, 375 yard season from last season. His fantasy status is higher this year than in 2007 simply because he is starting, but he should be no more than a depth player as offensive coordinator's Al Saunders scheme will rely more on Steven Jackson (if he shows up), Torry Holt and possibly tight end Randy McMichael.
June 9, 2008
Drew Bennett is working as the number two receiver opposite Torry Holt, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He moves into the role following the departure of Isaac Bruce to San Francisco. Bennett said, "It’s very difficult to replace a guy like Isaac Bruce. Hopefully I can just play my own game and do my own things. We got along great, and I learned a lot from him."

Our View:Bennett was disappointing in 2007, but his production could go back up as a starter this season. Torry Holt also has chronic knee problems, and Bennett could find himself as the top option at times this season as well.
