October 19, 2009
NFL.com is reporting that Kris Jenkins' left knee injury is indeed season-ending.

Our View:The horrible news is really starting to pile up for the Jets. After starting off 3-0, it's beginning to look like they will be very lucky to finish at or above .500. Jenkins was a force on a run-defense ranked just 21st in the league, and they will be hard pressed to weather his absence.

Updating a previous report, nose tackle Kris Jenkins's injury may be season ending, according to Jets beat writer Rod Boone on Twitter.

Our View:Boone says, "From the sound of things and the way some of the players are talking, Kris Jenkins' season may (repeat may) be over with a knee injury." This is certainly bad news for the Jets if it's true, as he is a key cog in their run defense. Sione Pouha is behind him on the depth chart, but he's been starting at defensive end. Trouble brewing in NYC.

Kris Jenkins exited the game against Buffalo in the second quarter with a knee injury.

Our View:Jenkins, who had three solo tackles before leaving, was assisted by the training staff to the locker room. No additional information is currently available regarding the severity of the injury.

Jets'' defensive tackle Kris Jenkins was limited in practice on Friday, according to the team's offical website. Jenkins is being listed as questionable for the Week 2 game with the Patriots.

Our View:Jenkins is hoping he will be able to go, but it looks like the Jets may have to do without. His huge body can change games on the interior line, and when he is out the Jets' defense looks totally different. We will keep you updated on his condition before the game.

Kris Jenkins was limited in today's practice while nursing a back ailment, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View:Jenkins is the anchor of the Jets' defensive line at nose tackle, and the Patriots' offense could benefit if he is hindered or forced out by the injury in Week 2.
