November 12, 2009
Tom Brady was a full participant in Patriots' practice on Thursday, according to the team's official website. Brady is still dealing with a sore right shoulder.

November 8, 2009
Tom Brady completed 25-of-37 passes for 332 yards with one touchdown against one interception in the Week 9 victory over Miami.

Our View:Brady, who has thrown 12 touchdowns in the last four games, just missed another score when wide receiver Randy Moss was pulled down at the one-yard line after a beautiful one-handed catch in the first quarter. Next up, the stingy Colts secondary which has allowed only four scores through the air in eight games this season.
November 7, 2009
Responding to recent criticism levied by Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter, Tom Brady says he doesn't believe that he receives preferential treatment from NFL referees, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:"I think the ref calls what he sees," he said. "I don't think I've ever influenced a call. The refs we have are very good. If they make a call on (roughing the passer), great. If they don't, that's fine." A diplomatic response from Brady - also a false one.
November 6, 2009
Tom Brady is probable for Sunday's home game against Miami, according to WEEI Sports.

Our View:Brady fully practiced all week with no issues with his right shoulder, and was never uncertain to play Sunday. He has a good matchup as the Dolphins are ranked 21st in pass defense.
November 4, 2009
Tom Brady (right shoulder) fully practiced Wednesday, according to the Patriots' official website.

Our View:Brady has fired 11 touchdown passes over his last three games, and looks to remain hot against the Dolphins this weekend, who are ranked 21st in pass defense.
October 25, 2009
Tom Brady was impressive in Sunday's 35-7 win over the Buccaneers at Wembley Stadium in London, as he completed 23-of-32 passes for 308 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Our View:Brady is on fire as he threw nine touchdown passes over his last two games. He has 15 for the season, and is averaging 290 passing yards per game. New England will have their bye next week.
October 22, 2009
Tom Brady fully practiced for the second straight day Thursday, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Brady fired six scoring strikes in Week 6 against Tennessee, and appears to be fully recovered from his right shoulder injury. The Patriots have a good matchup Sunday against the struggling Buccaneers.
October 21, 2009

Our View:Brady looks to be fully recovered from his right shoulder ailment, and broke out with 380 yards and six touchdown passes in Week 6 against the Titans. He has another favorable matchup this weekend at Tampa Bay.
October 18, 2009
Tom Brady set an NFL record with five touchdown passes in the second quarter of New England's ridiculous 59-0 win over the Titans in Week 6.

Our View:Brady had six total TDs on the day, tying his own franchise record, and was 29-of-34 for 380 yards before being pulled early in the third quarter. He hooked up with Randy Moss three times and found Wes Welker twice in the blowout, so it's safe to say Brady is back to his record-setting ways. He was replaced by backup Brian Hoyer, who completed 9-of-11 passes and rushed in a TD of his own.
October 18, 2009
There is a 90 percent chance of rain with winds NNE at 20-30 MPH today at New England, according to Weather.com.

Our View:The report also states that winds could occasionally gust over 40MPH, so Tom Brady owners should keep an eye on weather conditions at Foxboro as the morning progresses.
October 17, 2009
Tom Brady will be throwing against a Titans team without its top three cornerbacks on Sunday, according to Pro Football Talk.

Our View:Corland Finnegan, Nick Harper and Vincent Fuller are all out. Considering the Titans already have the 31st ranked pass defense in the NFL, Brady could shatter his season-high total of 378 yards from week one. Get ready.
October 11, 2009
Tom Brady completed 19-of-33 passes for 215 yards in Sunday's 20-17 loss at Denver. He threw two touchdown passes and no interceptions.

Our View:Brady had a pretty good game against a tough Broncos' defense on their home turf at Invesco Field. He threw two touchdown passes for the second time over five games.
October 7, 2009
Tom Brady fully practiced Wednesday, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View:The elite field general should be fine for Week 5 at Denver. He has been recovering from a right shoulder ailment.
October 4, 2009
Tom Brady completed 21-of-32 passes for 258 yards and one touchdown against zero interceptions in the Week 4 victory over Baltimore.

Our View:Tom Terrific also scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, which saved what would have been an otherwise lackluster fantasy performance. With one month of the season in the books, Brady isn't living up to his lofty draft status.
October 2, 2009
Tom Brady fully practiced Friday, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:The elite field general is probable for Sunday's battle against Baltimore at Gillette Stadium. He looks to be fine following his bout with a right shoulder ailment.
September 27, 2009
Tom Brady shot down the Falcons in Sunday's 26-10 win at Gillette Stadium, as he completed 25-of-42 passes for 277 yards, with one touchdown and no interceptions.

Our View:Brady fared better today after failing to throw a touchdown pass with an interception in Week 2 at the Jets. This is good news as the Patriots gear up to battle a tough Ravens' defense next week.
September 27, 2009
It is expected to rain in today's game between the Falcons and Patriots at Gillette Stadium.

Our View:The Patriots may opt to run the ball more today, especially with both Randy Moss and Wes Welker uncertain to play due to injuries. Falcons' kicker Jason Elam is dealing with a hamstring ailment, and wet field conditions could make his job even harder.
September 25, 2009
Tom Brady is probable for Week 3 against Atlanta, according to the Boston Globe. He has been recovering from a right shoulder injury.

Our View:The elite quarterback looks to be good to go for Sunday, but may be without top targets Randy Moss (back) and Wes Welker (knee).
September 23, 2009
Tom Brady fully practiced Wednesday, according to the Patriots' official website. He has been recovering from a right shoulder ailment.

Our View:The elite field general should be fine for Sunday's battle against Atlanta.
September 20, 2009
Tom Brady completed 23-of-47 passes for 216 yards and one interception in the Week 2 loss to the New York Jets.

Our View:Tom Terrific completed less than 50 percent of his passes, and the Patriots were held without an offensive touchdown for the first time since Dec. 10, 2006 (vs. Miami).
September 20, 2009
ESPN's Ron Jaworski says Tom Brady isn't following through on his passes so far this season because he lacks confidence due to his surgically repaired knee, according to Pro Football Talk.

Our View:That didn't really look like an unconfident 378 yards he threw for last week, a Week 1 league high. However, even though the Bills defense provided a much stiffer than expected test, Brady will likely be under far more pressure on Sunday from a seemingly frenzied Jets defense on a team that has made no bones about today being its Super Bowl. That being said, we still like his chances of carving up 2008's fourth-worst pass defense.
September 18, 2009
Tom Brady is listed as probable for Sunday's game at the Jets, according to Shalise Manza Young's (Providence Journal) twitter page.

Our View:The elite field general was able to fully practice Friday, and is expected to start against the Jets. He has been nursing a shoulder ailment, but lit up the Bills for 378 passing yards and two touchdowns in the season opener at Gillette Stadium.
September 14, 2009
Tom Brady gunned down the Bills in tonight's close 25-24 win at Gillette Stadium, as he completed 39-of-53 passes for 378 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Both of his scoring strikes went to tight end Ben Watson.

Our View:This was a very encouraging performance in the opener for Brady as he is coming off knee surgery. He will next challenge the Jets on their home turf next weekend.
September 11, 2009
Tom Brady fully practiced Friday, according to the Providence Journal. He has been recovering from a shoulder injury.

Our View:Brady should be good to go for Monday night's game against the Bills at Gillette Stadium.
September 2, 2009
Tom Brady will not play in the team's final preseason game this Thursday, though not because his throwing shoulder is hurt, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Pats coach Bill Belichick almost never plays his starters in the team's final preseason game, and Brady, and his shoulder and knee, are good to go and terrorize defenses in 2009.
September 1, 2009
Tom Brady looked good during Tuesday's practice with the Patriots, according to the Associated Press. He injured his throwing shoulder during preseason action with the Redskins last week, but fared fine without pain while throwing spirals today.

Our View:Head coach Bill Belichick did not comment if Brady will play in the preseason finale, but this news is encouraging regarding his status for Week 1 against Buffalo.
August 31, 2009
Tom Brady was on the field for the start of Patriots' practice on Monday, according to the Boston Globe. Brady was doing mostly hand-offs and was not seen throwing the ball.

Our View:The Pats allow reporters to attend the beginning of practice, but they are forced to leave when the team begins more rigorous work, so it is unclear how much Brady participated today. Regardless, it is a good sign that he was on the field, and it still looks like he should be fine for the start of the season.
August 31, 2009
Tom Brady told WEEI out of Boston that he is "expecting" to be ready for the team's opener against the Bills, according to ProFootballTalk.com. Brady acknowledged that he is injured and may not be 100 percent for the game.

Our View:We still don't believe the injury is serious, but since the Pats refuse to divulge any injury info, you never know exactly what is wrong. From the sound of it, Brady is still feeling the pain, but it shouldn't have much of an effect on his play unless it is more serious than the team is letting on.
August 30, 2009
According to the Boston Globe, Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady was still a bit sore on Sunday but his shoulder is fine. Brady is expected to be at 100 percent when the team opens the regluar season.

Our View:It looks like the shoulder of the Golden Boy is really a non-issue, which is great news for all fantasy owners. Don't expect this to affect him at all this season, and he still projects as an elite fantasy quarterback this year.
August 29, 2009
Tom Brady's throwing shoulder was "fine" on Saturday after the all-world quarterback landed on it on Friday night, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Sighs of relief, on the house. Don't expect Mr. Brady to see much playing time in the Patriots final preseason game.
August 28, 2009
Tom Brady returned to Friday's game in the third quarter, but then quickly exited with the team doctor.

Our View:Brady landed hard on his shoulder at the end of the first half, but was never visited by trainers. He even threw on the sideline before he left the game, so the injury is likely minor and he was removed for precautionary concerns. You can't be too careful with Tom Brady though.
August 28, 2009
Tom Brady was sharp in the first half of Friday's preseason game, hooking up with Randy Moss for two scores and completing 12-of-19 passes overall for 150 yards.

Our View:Brady came out after halftime, but looked like he was back to his 2007 form. He and Moss should be lethal again in 2009. There was a scare in the game though when Brady was smashed by Albert Haynesworth on the last play of the half and came up grabbing his shoulder in pain. He was favoring it on the bench afterward, but it doesn't appear to be serious.
August 13, 2009
Tom Brady was sharp in tonight's 27-25 preseason win at Philadelphia, as he completed 10-of-15 passes for 100 yards, with two touchdowns and an interception. Both of his scoring strikes were hauled in by tight end Chris Baker.

Our View:Brady is off to a strong start in the preseason, hence solidifying his ranking as top-5 fantasy quarterback.
August 12, 2009
According to the Boston Herald, Tom Brady will start the Patriots preseason opener against the Eagles on Thursday.

Our View:This will be Brady's first time facing contact since last year's season opener where he tore his ACL and MCL. He likely won't play long, but it will be a good test for his recovery from injury. Normally he wouldn't play at all in the preseason, but he needs the reps after missing an entire season.
August 5, 2009
Tom Brady practiced Wednesday without the aid of a knee brace, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:This in encouraging regarding his recovery from knee (ACL, MCL) surgery. Brady should continue to be targeted as a No. 1 fantasy quarterback for 2009.
July 31, 2009
According to the Boston Globe, Tom Brady expects to play in preseason games this year.

Our View:Brady missed all of 2008's preseason before suffering the well known knee injury in Week One that cost him his season. He's got to be rusty, so taking part in preseason action will likely help jump start him.
June 9, 2009
NBCSports.com reports that Tom Brady practiced on Tuesday despite muddy conditions and a steady rain.

Our View:Sounds like Brady is fully recovered from his torn ACL and ready for a monster 2009. If you let him pass in your draft, be sure you are taking someone of proven quality. Otherwise, you might end up looking silly.
June 2, 2009
SI.com's Peter King is reporting that Tom Brady wants badly to play in the preseason this year. Brady is coming off major knee surgery, and King believes Brady will work about 10 series or so during the Patriots' preseason schedule.

Our View:Brady seems to be chomping at the bit to be back into an NFL game. So much so, in fact, that he is actually looking forward to the preseason. This coming from a guy who was healthy last year and did not take a snap. Brady is ready to go, and fantasy players need to take heed.
June 1, 2009
The doctor who performed Tom Brady's knee surgery told the L.A. Times on Monday that Brady has exceeded expectations on his recovery. "With regard to his recovery of strength, I've never seen anything quite like it," said Dr. Neal ElAttrache.

Our View:There have been nothing but overwhelmingly positive reports about Brady's condition over the last few months, so he looks like a safe bet to have another big season. All reports have him completely healthy for the start of the season, so keep that in mind when your draft rolls around.
May 28, 2009
Tom Brady practiced with the Patriots Thursday, according to NFL.com. He did some stretching and threw the ball a bit.

Our View:His comeback from major knee surgery continues to go very well. He should be ready to go for Week 1, barring a setback.
May 26, 2009
Tom Brady practiced with the Patriots on Tuesday for the first time since his knee surgery last season, according to the Boston Globe. Brady participated fully in the team's non-contact OTAs and he is expected to continue to participate for the rest of the four-day session.

Our View:This is just another step in the Brady comeback. He expects to be on top of his game when the season starts, and he looks to be back to a number one fantasy quarterback. He could be a decent value coming off major knee surgery.
May 26, 2009
Tom Brady is 100 percent confident he will be able to play normally when the regular season starts in September, according to Sports Illustrated. He said, "I hae done everything I could to push myself, sometimes too hard. Right now, I am doing everything. Literally everything. There is nothing I cannot do."

Our View:Randy Moss also expects the Patriots' offense to be better than they were in 2007 when Brady fired 50 touchdown passes. Brady's recovery has gone great, and he should be safe to target as a No. 1 fantasy quarterback again.
May 19, 2009
According to the Sporting News, Tom Brady has no restrictions and will be 100 percent for the start of the NFL season.

Our View:Brady is six moths into his rehab after tearing his ACL and MCL last season. He suffered from a staph infection after the surgery, but it was cleared up quickly. Expect Brady to return to his 2007 form. We're not saying he'll throw 50 touchdowns again, but he's back to being a top of the line fantasy pick.
April 21, 2009
Patriots' head coach Bill Belichick noted that Tom Brady is doing well, according to the Providence Journal. Belichick said, "He is doing his offseason work without limitation."

Our View:Brady should be ready for the start of the 2009 campaign, and will be looking to reclaim his status as an elite fantasy quarterback.
April 7, 2009
Wes Welker does not believe Tom Brady lost anything after undergoing knee surgery, according to the Providence Journal. He is confident that Brady will return to elite form and Welker commented, "He could never run that well anyway."

Our View:This is encouraging, and the club would not have dealt Matt Cassel to the Chiefs if they did not feel Brady would bounce back fine in 2009.
February 18, 2009
Tom Brady believes he may be ready to participate in mini-camp and passing camp, and feels that he put his knee injury and surgery behind him, acccording to the Providence Journal. He said, "You would not know I had surgery looking at me. Everything is progressing just as I expected."

Our View:Barring a setback, it looks like Brady is on pace to be ready for Week 1 in 2009.
February 11, 2009
The Boston Globe reports that Patriots' owner Robert Kraft said on Howard Stern's radio show that Tom Brady would be the Patriots starting quarterback as long as he is healthy, regardless of whether or not he struggles. "He's our guy," Kraft said. He also added that, "He is doing very well."

Our View:At this point it would appear that Matt Cassel is nothing but insurance for Brady's surgically repaired knee. Offseason workouts are still months away, and we'll be sure to follow the status of both quarterbacks throughout the upcoming summer.
February 10, 2009
Patrick Graham has resigned as the defensive line coach at Toledo to take a coaching job with the Patriots, according to the Providence Journal.

Our View:Graham's position with the Patriots is yet to be named. He was a graduate assistant under Charlie Weis at Notre Dame, who was a former offensive coordinator in New England.
February 1, 2009
Chris Mortensen of ESPN pointed out the conflicting reports regarding the health of Tom Brady's surgically repaired knee on Sunday. However, he feels the most reliable sources indicate that Brady should be ready by Week 1 of next season.

Our View:The Patriots will still probably franchise quarterback Matt Cassel as an expensive insurance policy in case Brady's return is delayed. Without a doubt, we will be covering Brady's status to a great extent between now and Week 1.
January 31, 2009
The NFL has no plans to change it's policy that games must be sold out in advance or they will not be shown on local television, the Detroit Free-Press reports. "The blackout policy is something that is a long-term policy of the NFL. It has served us well, it has served the public well, and I do not anticipate any changes to our blackout policy," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Our View:Goodell seems to be missing the boat here, especially in these economic times. Fewer fans are going to have money to spend on what amounts to more than just the expense of a ticket. And if teams are struggling to sell tickets, wouldn't they want to drum up interest by putting the product on television or risk "out of sight, out of mind?" Many baseball teams have all or most of their 162 games on television, and there has still been record attendance.
January 27, 2009
Tom Brady should be ready to play in the opening game of the 2009 season, and he is already starting football drills, like dropping back and throwing, reports the Boston Globe.

Our View:This is certainly good news for fantasy owners, though Brady still has a way to go before his rehab can be called a success.
January 27, 2009
The Patriots have hired Floyd Reese as their new senior football advisor, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Reese formerly served for 13 campaigns as the general manager of the Oilers/Titans, winning 111 games over the span, with an NFL-best 56 victories coming over a five-year stretch from 1999-2003.
January 21, 2009
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was mum on his surgically repaired left knee when interviewed on a Canadian radio station Wednesday night, the Providence Journal reports. Asked how his extensive rehab has been progressing, Brady replied with a nondescript "It's going really, really well."

Our View:You may as well disregard any speculation that indicates infections in his knee may prevent Brady from being ready for next season's opener ќbecause it probably doesn't matter. After all, the Patriots are Super Bowl XLIV favorites a whole year in advance, so why worry?
January 21, 2009
The Providence Journal reports that the New England Patriots are 6-1 favorites to win the Super Bowl ... in 2009.

Our View:That's pretty interesting, considering the status of Tom Brady is uncertain, free agency has yet to take place, and neither has the draft. Oh, and one other small detail remains: this year's Super Bowl hasn't even been played yet. The team with the next-best odds is Dallas, at 9-1.
